So accommodating! Every employee that I interacted with knew I had celiac and the chef cooked all my food before using any teriyaki or regular soy sauce on the grill. Almost everything I had was already gluten free but they were still very reassuring

Seemed to be knowledgeable about accommodating GF and other dietary restrictions. However, I had to double check several times to make sure the sauces etc that I was being served were GF. Some turned out not to be. It is a very busy place and the chefs have a lot going on so don’t assume they know even if you told the server. Food was great but I don’t have high confidence that there wasn’t a fair amount of cross contamination. A high-quality, fun experience but a bit risky for those who are celiac/highly-symptomatic.

5 stars for safety however limited GF options. Next time I'm just getting the fried rice option because other than the shrimp apetizer thats essentially all I ended up getting as the other meats had gluten marinade. The chef uses GF soy sauce for the whole table. And makes the gluten items after the GF fried rice which comes out first. The fried rice is seriously good though so just get that. Your belly and wallet will thank you😀

Gluten Intolerant

At first I was told I would have to have my food without sauce; after I inquired about gluten free soy sauce, the server checked and found out that they do, indeed, have gluten free soy sauce. The teppanyaki chef then used that for the cooking for everyone at our station, so there would be no cross-contamination. The others were given different dipping sauces; I was given a bowl of the gluten free soy sauce for dipping. The food was quite good. My only complaint was having to eat my salad with no dressing. There was an appetizer I couldn't have so they gave me two salads.

I have never left a review before this, but i have never been so angry. First warning sign should have been that they have no gluten free menu and asked "doesnt that mean you cant have flour"? I unwisely moved forward assuming the chef or kitchen staff could accomodate. While waiting for the chef, they brought out the salads.

I was told repeatedly by several staff that only the scallops contain gluten (second warning sign since almost everything contains soy sauce). Well i ate the salad. Then the chef comes out and pours the sauces for the gluten-eaters in my party. He poured them all over the common cooking surface and spilled a bunch all over. I then told him to cancel my order because i cant eat off that. He said not to worry and that he would clean it up. He pulled out the towel that he cleaned his last table's cooking surface with (saturated in soy sauce) and started wiping things down. I told hin to stop and that what he was doing was actually making it worse.

Meanwhile the manager comes over to tell me they can accomodate. He said that his server was misinformed and they can get a more experienced server. Then he tells me that the salad dressing, in fact, has gluten in it. I lost my sh**.

Long story short this place has no idea. I am sure the food is great if you dont have gluten issues. But if you do, AVOID AT ALL COST.

No idea of gluten free. We were told to avoid the scallops and use gluten free sauce. We asked repeatedly if they accomidate for celiac only to be served thr salad and after ingesting found out it has miso paste which had gluten. During this time the chef also began cooking using gluten soy sauce. Never will come here again. My family left feeling ill.

This place has delicious hibachi and, though they were very friendly about my request and had tamari sauce to give me in place of soy sauce, they still prepared it on the same surface as their soy sauce foods (though further away on the griddle). If you are not terribly sensitive this might be ok for you, but I did have symptoms afterward. For what it was worth, it was delicious and the show was good. Not for celiacs.

I love this place! It blows Benihana out of the water! The only disappointment was that they don’t have any GF salad dressing so I had to eat my salad plain. My chef, Talima, cooked everyone’s food with GF soy sauce, which is awesome. He created a good dipping sauce for me with soy sauce, lemon, and a little garlic. It’s much better than plain soy sauce. I had the filet, which was cooked perfectly. Talima is a rock star! He was entertaining, and a great chef. The people at my table were fun, which also helps.

Had an amazing dinner here last night! (March 2018). I made a reservation the day before and let them know about my allergy. When we arrived, my allergy was clearly marked and highlighted on our reservation card and once seated, the host informed our server who was prepared with a list of "things I can't have" for me. After ordering, the manager came out (Jordan) who spoke with me and informed me that all the chef's are able to accommodate my allergy and everyone is aware of proper protocol. Our chef, Tino, came out and started the show and to cook. He noted I was the celiac and said he would use GF soy sauce for the table and then cook my meal first as to avoid CC. He got a little carried away in the act and poured "Volcano sauce" to make the onion mountain erupt. I was curious and asked what it was made of and he froze and said, "Oh god! Soy sauce! I'm so sorry! I was wrapped up in the show and routine!". He was extremely apologetic, removed all the veggies from the grill, took all his utensils, went into the back to get fresh clean ones, and had someone else come out and scrub the grill clean. One slight hiccup, which thankfully I asked about, and the rest of the evening was flawless and super delicious! (The chef, manager, and server apologized for the slight mix up, they gave us a discount coupon for next time and free drinks!). Amazing experience, great food, great atmosphere, and best of all: No reaction! 10/10 recommend!

Had a fabulous meal here last night. Pono was our chef, he was very knowledgeable and he made my meal first after cleaning the grill thoroughly. He made all of the vegetables for the whole table with gf soy sauce so everyone could begin eating then he finished my meal and started all of their entrees. He was very fun to watch cook. He even sent back the butter for a new clean one bc his had been used before. The wait staff was not as knowledgeable but he caught them when they served me the side of pickled veggies, I had started to eat it not knowing it had regular soy sauce and he made them take it away and bring me clean chopsticks. As with any restaurant experience as many questions and if your server does not know or understand Gluten Sensitive Reactions and Celiac then request a manager. I would absolutely go back!

Ordered steak and shrimp. Not as confident as I would have hoped with knowledge of gluten free options. Asked whole table if they would be ok using a gf soy sauce. Possibility of cross contamination if you are very sensitive. I would go back just because I didn't have a reaction.

I had a really good experience here. The manager came out and spoke to me about about my gluten intolerance, and they prepared my food in the back to avoid cross contamination. The food was delicious, and I was fine.

They made me a delicious gluten free meal in the kitchen rather than on the common grill to avoid cross-contamination. The steak was recommended as dishes with sauce (e.g. Chicken) have a higher cross-contamination risk. They brought me lemon to squeeze on the salad as the dressing is not gluten free - not is the miso soup. Great service. Reservations recommended.

Just ate there this week! It was amazing! Excellent service, beyond friendly and so accomadating for gluten allergies!! The food was amazing! I ordered the Lobster and Steak option. You will have to skip the Miso soup. For the salad dressing you will have to do lemon juice. It's all worth it to watch the show of a Japanese Steakhouse that will use Gluten free soy sauce for you! Go there!
