Update September 2021: sad to report that Tannat has closed its doors. Such a loss for the neighborhood, I will really miss it!
Love, love, love Tannat! In their new covid incarnation they are also a small grocery store packed with GF delicacies including GF beer, GF bread and bagels and cookies. It’s a dream. Go frequently as this is a small space and GF inventory moves quick. While you’re there grab some blood oranges, amazing local cheese, mushrooms, so many amazing treats to be had. One of the owners is celiac so they have a very good understanding of celiac food prep and precaution with their prepared food menu.

I emailed ahead to confirm it was safe and I received the following confirmation:
“We run a strict gluten free kitchen--including homemade gf pasta-- so your guest will have basically full run of the menu.”
The chef curated a celiac safe meal for me that was amazing. They also have a wonderful wine selection. I can’t wait to come back!

An adorable wine bar with a great locally-sourced menu. Mentioned I was celiac and owner/server said she is as well, and walked me through how things are handled in the kitchen —separate station for bread, and GF-bread available to sub for bread items on menu. Even so wanted me to make sure to tell the other server to note it down so the kitchen would be clear on it. Most items are already gluten-free and everything we ordered (small plates mostly) was delicious, very veggie-focused. Excellent wine list, knowledgeable staff, open all day, happy hour every day. A real neighborhood gem, but worth traveling uptown for for sure.

An almost completely gluten free kitchen. Any dish containing gluten is labeled. Gluten free bread! Plus they get their ingredients from local farms and pour many wines with no added sulphur! Vegan options too!

The food was excellent and interesting as was the wine list. If you love cheese, order the Brazillian cheese bread, you will not be dissappointed.
