Menu says nothing about having GF options
We are visiting Chicago area and I'm celiac and my daughter has a wheat allergy. Tatas offers GF pierogi, potato pancakes, and more. We have only been only to enjoy these if we make them. We purchased frozen pierogi as well to take home. Hope they add as many GF options as regular in the future.

Menu clearly marked with a lot of gluten free options. Pierogis, cabbage rolls, etc. Small, modern lunch spot or no frills dinner. Affordable prices also including frozen GF pierogis for take home option. Will be back for sure.

Love this place and their gluten free pierogis - so delicious - and they sell their gluten free pierogis in their freezer - CAUTION - if you have any issues with the language barrier or if over-advocating to make sure you got gluten free doesn’t sound like your scene, and you still want yummy pierogis - def instead snap up some frozen ones if you can!
Be careful - some staff in front and back of house get wires crossed, I eat here all the time with NO cross contamination issues, but they have messed up my order before and accidentally given me reg pierogis - I always double check when I’m not sure.

The best gf pierogi you can get around
DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE CELIAC DISEASE. I ASKED FOR GF PIEROGIS AND EVEN TALKED WITH THE LOVELY POLISH WOMAN WHO SAID SHE HAS CELIAC. I ASKED IF THE PIEROGIS WERE GF AGAIN WHEN SHE PUT DOWN MY PLATE. THEY WERE INCREDIBLE... UNTIL I STARTED THROWING UP THREE HOURS LATER. THIS IS ALWAYS MY BODY'S REACTION TO GLUTEN AND IT WAS BRUTAL. WHEN MY HUSBAND CALLED, THEY CONFESSED I HAD PROBABLY BEEN GIVEN REGULAR PIEROGI. CLEARLY, NOT SAFE. They have many GF options but I sadly can't recommend any of them.

We thought the food was great. But about 3 hours after leaving my wife got quite ill. She was very clear about having celiac. But despite the owner's assurances something was clearly contaminated. Ruined our day and evening.

The lady at the counter was Celiac and totally understood gluten free.
Polish comfort food was excellent. I had cabbage rolls, pierogis, and potato pancakes. Had no issues with gluten free and staff did a great job.
Great food
Update: Back here again on 8/12/2023 and this place is still awesome!

I’d give this 100 stars if I could. Tons of gluten free options and everything tastes amazing. I actually don’t even like polish food but this changed my perspective completely. Everything is celiac safe and I had no reaction. Highly recommend!

GF pierogi clearly marked but service poor. Only one person taking orders and running food. There were 4 of us (2 gf and 2 not gf) and my husband (non gf) never got his food. After ONE HOUR we got a refund but she gave us cash and didn’t refund for tax or the extras we added. Should have gotten a couple more bucks back.

Delicious food, though a little pricey, and the staff never gave me confidence when I ordered gluten free and had questions (felt dismissive). Unfortunately I think my last order might not have been entirely gluten free (feeling sick all week since then). I’m really sad that I don’t think I can trust Tate’s again.

So tasty! They don't have a dedicated kitchen, but they said they have dedicated GF utensils and dedicated GF pots. They have GF: stuffed cabbage, potato dumplings, potato pancakes, and pierogi (meat, potato & cheese, potato & onion, kraut & mushroom, cheese, spinach & feta, potato & kraut, sweet cheese and blueberry). The the mushroom, potato and blueberry ones are all also vegan.

What a yummy treat! The pierogies were fantastic definitely go here and be reminded about what a pierogi tastes like! Lots of different gluten free varieties.
I was here for a business trip and found this through the app! Wow! I haven’t had pierogis in ages, but remember having pierogi eating contests with my grandpa (who was 100% Polish), as a kid. These were so good! I wish I could get them in my home state! Multiple options for gluten free eaters, and vegan options as well!!
Authentic Gluten Free Polish Pierogi and potato pancakes! I just can't say enough about this place! It is so good! Both my son and I ate there without any problems! They were very knowledgeable about gluten free. Tastes just like grandma's cooking!

I was very worried about trying a new place because so many places say they are gluten free and really are not. I emailed them and the president of the company Lester emailed me back telling me what my gluten free choices were. Perogies, sausage, potato pancakes and beef stew. Finally tried it and I had not a single issue, food was great, will be back again for sure.

The most amazing Gluten Free Polish meal. They have Perogis, got them frozen and made at home. So good, it’s apart of my cultural up bringing I’ve missed so much. They are super friendly and told me to call ahead to get a better idea of flavors available. They have other polish foods gf as well!
