Detroit style gluten-free pizza was extraordinary. I thought I’d never again have a pan pizza, but I will definitely return for more here.

So I have always been a deep dish pizza lover but when I became gluten intolerant & then diagnosed celiac, I thought I would never get to eat a thick crust pizza again. I have only found 1 other place that has a gf crust so close to regular, that it is hard to tell the difference. This is one & the other is in Phoenix AZ, at a restaurant called Cibo. There was a little confusion when I first tried to order, about different toppings that may or may not have gluten, but in the end we persevered & found a pizza I wanted to try with safe toppings. The pizza’s are cooked in a pan so little chance of cross contamination in the oven but not a dedicated gf kitchen or space. The pizza was a good size & so good, I would have paid even more just to have that authentic pizza crust & taste! I will definitely be back when back in the Charleston area! Best part I did not get sick or feel bad after!! PS: parking is a big problem at peak time, I would go early or at off peak time to help with this!

This is the best gluten free pizza I’ve had and I’ve had a lot. The gluten free here is similar to their Detroit style which is like a pan pizza. The crust actually has volume to it like a real pan pizza. I wish we lived closer because we would eat here a lot! The pizza is on the small side but because it’s think it’s filling. It was a similar size to my husbands non GF Detroit stile pizza and only a $1 up charge.

Staff knew what was and wasn’t gluten free. Pizza was excellent and prepared in individual pans separate from other pizza. My daughter is not celiac so you may want to double check before going if you are about cross contamination. Pizza was delicious. Our whole family is trying to stay gluten/wheat free to help our daughter get comfortable with her recent diagnosis and we all enjoyed it. Would put this down as a place to come back to again.
