Had the science afternoon tea, and it was very cute. My waiter wasn’t knowledgeable unfortunately, but their back of staff must be, as I ate here without getting sick. I did choose to avoid some of the communal mix-ins and brush tools since I didn’t feel comfortable with them given the lack of knowledge from the servers, and they also couldn’t confirm for me which teas were gluten-free, so there was one I avoided just in case, since it mentioned malt. The sandwiches were yummy, scones were ok (jams were quite good), the ice cream dessert was quite good but others were just so-so. There are other teas in London that made me feel safer as a celiac, so I’d probably choose them over this one, but still was happy overall.

Wonderful gluten free afternoon tea - science themed and completely charming! They immediately asked about food allergies and gluten free tea was identified on the menu. The food, and hot chocolate for the kids, was delicious and you can ask for more. They even gave us a to go box of gluten free scones! Highly recommend if you have room in your budget.

Delicious, fun science themed afternoon tea. The Ampersand is a beautiful hotel but the tea is more low key because of the lounge setting and fun science themed elements. Family memeber with celiac was very happy with their tea. Great treat!

Great Gluten Free Tea. We went with our kids and they have a great Science themed tea, which is also available GF. The staff were great about identifying all possible gluten allergens and kept everything separate for us. The gf scones were excellent - better than we expected for GF. Our tea was fun and exciting, without the pressure of worrying about gluten. Would definitely recommend.

My family enjoyed this afternoon tea and they are not celiac so had the regular options. I had tea and the GF option which tasted excellent. Always feel a cross contamination risk at a place with so many baked goods but i felt safe and enjoyed the meal with no reaction over the post 12-24 hours.

We had such a fun time enjoying the science tea with our family of 5. I have one son with Celiac and we felt good about their GF options and knowledge of GF. Lovely atmosphere, good location. Definitely recommend.

They do a Gluten-free afternoon tea in their tea rooms! Beautifully decorated hotel, usually not too busy. Lovely GF scones, clotted cream etc. Very close to the Natural History Museum.
