Our waitress was amazing!! She was very knowledgeable about the ingredients and if she wasn't completely sure about our questions she went and asked! So many amazing options, gluten free bun for the burger or sandwiches. Frier is cross contaminated but the other sides available are very good. We all enjoyed our meals, felt safe and didn't get sick!!

Swapped a gluten free bun on the burger - delicious. Fries are cross contaminated though
I had to go to Fredericksburg for an errand, and I was not looking forward to my usual “lunch” on the road…Coke Zero and either a bag of Fritos or a Kind bar. My husband wanted to go to one of Fredericksburg’s restaurants and I said, “and where can I get something to eat!” He found this app, and then found Auslander. It sounded perfect.
It was better than that. They even have gluten free hard cider, though I chose an imported Riesling to go with my “currywurst”, a brat NOT cooked in beer, but with ketchup with curry in it. Apparently a fave German street food! Awesome service, knowledgeable staff, and even GF hot German potato salad.
We are fans for life. It was so nice to eat like a normal person, in a restaurant that takes GF VERY seriously. Try it!!!

Staff very knowledgeable about gluten free. Lots of gluten free options. The waiter went over everything I could have gluten free. Had the sausage (not cooked in beer), german potato salad and corn. Sausage was good, and huge! Took half home as leftovers. Definitely would come back..

Great experience. Waiter was informative on what was and wasn't gluten free. He even brought out the gf menu they have in the kitchen for us to look over. The Reuben was so tasty on the gf bun. They said the buns are the udi's brand buns.

Spoke with the manager who said there is flour flying through the kitchen, which is right behind where they cook meat. I had a glass of wine while my family ate

I wouldn’t consider this place celiac or allergy safe at all. They had very little knowledge or interest and the food was mediocre.

Had the spicy bratwurst with potato salad! Food was delicious and waiter was very knowledgeable and let the chef know of my allergy. All the bratwursts were gf and the grilled redfish as well. Definitely recommend for anyone with a gluten intolerance like me.

I had the Venison and Pork Cured Smoked Sausage and the potato salad. The waitress was knowledgeable about stated the potato salad was gluten free. The sausages were not since they were made with beer. But she had the kitchen prepare mine gluten free. It was very good and a great experience!

Waiters mom has Celiac. I’d say that is well versed in knowing what is safe and what isn’t. I have never been to a traditional German restaurant before, so I took his advice! They have gluten free bread. He said basically just stay away from the fried items.

Asked the waitress if the grilled chicken meal was gf safe. She said yes and would let the kitchen know. Everything tasted great. Did not get sick, but still felt uncertain about the precautions taken.

I asked the hostess if there were gluten free options and she told me yes but not many. The waitress was much more helpful, she checked with the kitchen on everything I was interested in. She was able to tell me with confidence the brats are all gf. I got the old world potato soup and a sausage plate (currywurst specifically). I’m a silent celiac so I can’t say if there was cross contamination, but I know there was precaution taken so I could eat something.

The hostess looked at us blankly when we asked about a gluten-free menu. Someone else—manager?—said, your server will help you with that. When we asked what I could safely eat, it seemed to amuse him. “Not the soups, not the schnitzels.” When pressed, he answered that nothing with gravies or sauces were safe. Finally I said, “You’ve only told me what I can’t eat. Is there anything I CAN eat?” “Salads.” “What about sandwiches?” I ask. “Bread.” “Do you have gluten free bread?” “I’m pretty sure we have one gluten-free bun.” We almost left at this point, because it seemed he was blaming me for having celiac disease. The salad was adequate, but I could’ve eaten that at home.
The waitress had a gluten free menu, but it was on her phone. I had a chicken sandwich with a gluten free bun (untoasted) and mashed potatoes. It was really good and she checked with the kitchen multiple times to make sure everything was separate but I still felt a little weird after, so I can’t say it’s celiac safe.
