Finally, the Blue Moose has a new gluten Free menu and seem to be taking it more seriously. It may depend some on the waiter, not sure if they are trained. I had the broiled walleye with dill and rice and side salad. Excellent. Another time I had the Chicken salad with the oranges and gluten/dairy free dressing. The waiter double checked on dressings and went the extra mile as she has family members who have serious allergies. Thank you Blue Moose for coming through. Surely felt good not to get sick.

The waiter told us a menu item was gluten free, it was not. Our daughter with Celiac developed a very painful blistering rash over both hands requiring a trip to the doctor, lab work, and medication. I contacted the manager who never got back to me. I contacted them again and the person I spoke with didn't seem to care too much. They of course apologized without much empathy and said they would talk to the waiter, that was it. We will never trust them again. Our daughter was in so much pain and it takes weeks for it to heal.

I went on a date with my girlfriend here who has Celiac. She has the GF cranberry salad and it was good! Should’ve asked for dressing on the side as it was a little sweet. Cool lodge style building. I had the non gf fish taco and it was awesome!! If you’re looking for a place where you and someone who’s gf can enjoy the blue moose is a great spot!

Amazed to see a gluten free specific menu. Staff is amazing - with my three obnoxious children who are starving and celiac. Patient, had suggestions and made us feel like we were meant to be there.

Large Gluten free menu BUT….. I asked the waiter to double check ingredients in one of the items listed on the gluten-free menu and to his great credit, he did, only to find out that due to recent changes in ingredients that there was indeed gluten in one of the items. Had I not asked however, I would have been contaminated. The manager did come over to address the issue and apologize and stated that the item would be removed from the menu or the ingredient would be changed. We were satisfied with their attentiveness and their follow through. We ordered a different item off the menu and I was good. We have ordered items previously from this restaurant without issue. We do plan on coming back.

I ordered directly from the gluten-free menu and found pasta in the slaw they put on my plate. So I stopped eating and asked the server to check it out. They offered me free dessert for exposing me to gluten - I turned them down. But they don’t realize I’ll be sick for weeks, maybe months because they for some stupid reason put pasta in slaw and then put it on my gluten free plate.
The last two times I have eaten at the Blue Moose, I have ended up getting sick after. Generally I order by saying, "I'm ordering gluten free tonight for medical reasons. I will get very sick if I have even a little gluten. I'm going to be ordering xyz off the gluten free menu for medical reasons." Then, when my food is delivered, I ask, "and this is from the gluten free menu?"
Two times in a row, I was sick after.
They have a gf menu but it's just regular food with out bread. Not a big selection.

Nice variety on the gf menu. Did not get glutened afterwards. Blue Moose is on my safe list
Such great food and great gf options great for celiac disease sufferers
Extremely Celiac friendly. I've had the best experience here out of all GF friendly restaurants in Grand Forks. Just make sure you specify you are ordering off the gluten free menu, even if the if the item is also on the regular menu! They will take extra precautions to avoid CC if you specify it's off the gluten free menu. There are many choices as well. :)
