I stayed at The Scholar and had dinner here twice and breakfast every morning for 5 days. First, I’ll say the dinner staff and waiters were amazing! They know about celiac and being gluten free, and about cross contamination. I even overheard the waiter tell another patron that they won’t say the risotto is gluten free because the packaging says “may contain wheat.” This says a lot, in my opinion.
However, breakfast was a different story. Two of the waiters I had there didn’t understand what gluten free was. Both times I had them tell me everything on the menu is gluten free, which I know isn’t true. So, it’s best to talk to someone else if that happens, who will talk to the chef and come back and let you know what is safe to eat. After that part was settled, it was good but there are significantly less options.
