Delicious gluten-free food. I ordered a soup and got gluten-free bread with the soup. The main course was a lot, but very tasty. I took a burger with cheddar cheese. The hamburger bun is also gluten-free and tasty.

Stopped by the tea rooms for lunch. Portions were huge and the staff were very knowledgable about coeliac disease. Most of the menu was adaptable.

We loved the food and the atmosphere! There were several GF choices, and the staff really knew how to handle a GF diet. It was my favorite meal of our 10 days in Scotland. If we lived there, we would definitely be regulars.

Great place! Clearly marked menu items (dairy free and gluten free options available), friendly and knowledgeable staff, excellent food. Had the gluten free fish and chips (second time in about 10 years!) and the sweet potato salad, with chocolate mousse for dessert. For drinks, two GF cider options, and one GF beer on the menu, as well as a full list of wines.

My rating is based on the fact I didn't get sick. I got fish and chips which were okay, but not stellar. There were a wide variety of options for gluten free food... and even desert options.

Was excited to read the prior reviews. I miss eating batter dipped/fried foods. I had the fish and chips gluten free and my husband had regular fish & chips. Was delicious and much more than I could eat. Had quite a few items which could be prepared GF.

As a Texas girl who's never had the pleasure of eating fish and chips, I was overjoyed to find somewhere that would make them gluten free! I haven't had a single problem since eating there and let me say the food was AMAZING! My boyfriend (who isn't gluten free) also agreed his meal was superb, this place should definitely be on your list if you're spending any time in Glasgow! As a bonus, all but maybe 5 or 6 menu items weren't listed as GF, but the waitress said that they can modify most of those meals! Will definitely make a second trip here!

Staff were really knowledgeable about gluten free food and the importance of separate fryers to prevent cross contamination. Thoroughly enjoyed my prawn toast followed by fish and chips (1st time since diagnosis for me!). Wish I had room to try a dessert here!

The Butterfly and the Pig is a unique restaurant filled with fun mismatched furniture and wallpaper. It's a relaxing, homey place to have a drink or enjoy a meal during the day. At night, it livens up with local bands and DJs. Their menu features delicious meals created from fresh, local ingredients. Serving up delicious meals like fish and chips, vegetable frittatas, and bangers and mash, this place is definitely not to be missed. Many dishes are naturally gluten-free and a whole lot more can be made gluten-free on request — even their amazing fish and chips! The restaurant makes its own gluten-free bread for gluten-free burgers and sandwiches, and the staff is extremely well-versed on gluten-free cooking and Celiac Disease.
