Gluten free not marked on menu but meals were able to accommodate by removing gluten items. Desert menu was labeled with gf options.
It’s a lovely fine dining restaurant and service was very good. While many menu items are marked with a symbol indicating gluten free, most have to be modified. Be sure to ask your server about this. We specified GF when ordering, and one item had none of the sauce (which was a significant flavor component of the dish, and I was disappointed since the server didn’t indicate there would be such an omission). The menu isn’t clear that modifications must be made to their items marked GF, so people might end up getting glutened if they don’t clarify their dietary needs with the server.
Great food- knowledgeable about cross contamination, and let me know they would work hard to keep me safe but obviously couldn’t guarantee it in a non-dedicated kitchen. I did not get sick and food was delicious! ( I did not even get bloated as I usually do eating out with GF precautions)
We stayed at this remarkable hotel with no intention of dining here except for the included breakfast. Then we saw the menu for The Dining Room - everything except the pasta dish was GF! It's a bit pricey, but I'm here to say, it was worth every penny. The food was outstanding - rivaled the incredible meals on our 2019 Viking Ocean cruise. We were able to dine on the veranda, which added to the wonderful experience - twice. It was so sensational we booked a second evening. Both times I had pan-seared salmon, sautéed asparagus, and emperor's forbidden rice with achiote butter sauce. The rice was amazing! I was also served warm GF bread with butter. My husband had Colorado Chicken Breast one night, Maple Leaf Farms Duck Duet the second night. Both were fabulous. For dessert both times we shared The Cliff House Soufflé (orange soufflé, vanilla anglaise) which was incredible. Found out on our last morning that I could have been getting GF toast; sure wish I had inquired sooner! There is a second restaurant at this hotel but it was closed during the pandemic. I hope to review that one, Red Mountain Bar and Grill, next year!
Horrible experience just trying to get a seat at this location. My daughter has celiac disease and I chose this restaurant due to her autoimmune disability. When I arrived I was told I had to sit outside in the cold because I have an ADA physical service animal due to being disabled myself. When I explained the law that at a dog is not considered a pet but an actual service Caregiver he said they have to arrange for me to say in a room off the dining area. With that said I even have a hypoallergenic service animal. We ended up leaving because of the disrespect we received before we had even been seated. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone!
