2-19-25. He has moved to a bigger place in the same strip center. Still as wonderful as ever!!
12-20-23 I eat here every time we come to Las. Vegas. Still the best!!
I am GF and DF, no problem at this place. Authentic English fish and chips. I had the haddock. Huge 16 ounce portion. Everything cooked separately. The owner is very knowledgeable. He even had apple cider vinegar to use. I highly recommend this place.
Amazing fish and chips, the new favorite whenever I am in town. I got the haddock gluten free and an extra tartar sauce. The staff was very knowledgeable. They changed gloves and swapped out the malt vinegar with apple cider vinegar (hadn't had before but very good). Highly recommended if you are celiac and love good British style fish and chips.
Undoubtedly the BEST GF fish and chips I have ever had, which is hard to find anyway. In a strip mall and we’ll worth the trip- we had to drive 20 minutes and worth every mile. The owner explained exactly what he uses for breading and it is a dedicated fryer. Safe for celiacs.
Delicious! Owner was at the register when we ordered and was more than happy to explain all the precautions to us. Dedicated gluten free fryers, even for the fries. Staff was super friendly. It was delicious and my non-gf family also loved it!!
This place did not disappoint, definitely well deserved of all the stars, hearts and positive reviews. When I ordered the person (pretty sure it was the owner) pulled me aside and assured me that they had a separate gluten free fryer and mentioned having more space for gluten free prep was a consideration in their new location. When they brought out the food they prioritized handing me my food first and even brought out vinegar for me! Rest of the party (non gluten free) were thrilled with their food as well. Will be a repeat customer next time I’m in Vegas.
If you want to get down with some true, right down to the grease, delicious fish n chips, add this as another great place on the list. They cut and make their own fries. They also make a gf batter and use a gf fryer to fry it all. Upon gf request. Their tartar sauce is so yummy. It is a very large portion. So if you’re not that hungry bring a friend to share with, or it heats up great in the air fryer later . 😜The owner is super awesome and very keen to the celiac needs.
Life changingly delicious 😂 no exaggerating here! I loved it so much. I got the fish & chips. I’ve missed battered fried food so much since being diagnosed. My celiac son got the the gf cod bites, and they were excellent as well. The owner is lovely. He brought our gf food out with apple cider vinegar instead of malt vinegar, and told me the ingredients of the tarter sauce. Can’t wait to drive the 2 hrs to visit again!
This place was amazing. I ordered the haddock with chips. Absolutely delicious. Owner knowledgeable about celiac. Explained how the batter was made and used dedicated fryers.
Can't wait to go back!
The BEST fish I've ever had. The batter is to die for. Hand cut chips (French fries) that were the most incredible fries. The owner was so kind and the service was impeccable. I live near the ocean and this was the best fish I've ever had, hands down. They also provided apple cider vinegar & homemade tarter sauce! Dedicated fryer, knowledgeable of Celiac & no negative reaction.
🌾🚫 GF Items: All battered items can be made gluten free and are celiac friendly! The chips, clam chowder, and mushy peas are also gluten free. In place of malt vinegar, which has gluten, gluten free apple cider vinegar is provided.
✴ The owner Glynn who hails from Sheffield, England, was inspired to make gluten free options after seeing the difficulty a friend of his with Celiac Disease had dining out. All gluten free items are prepared in separate area and in separate fryers.
❇ Reccomendation: The fish and chips and clam chowder are the best I’ve ever had even pre-celiac disease diagnosis! The mushy pea fritters are amazing!
🐶 The owner Glynn has top notch service! He happily accommodated our family including our puppy by bringing a table and chairs outside for us to dine together!
This is always our first and last foodie stop when we’re in the Las Vegas area!
The BEST gluten-free fish and chips in Las Vegas in both taste and price is @TheCodfatherLV. It tastes just like the non-gluten-free fish and chips I've had in the UK prior to my celiac diagnosis.
As a Celiac living in Las Vegas, I'm trying all the places that have truly gluten-free fish and chips - which means they must have a dedicated fryer to prevent cross contamination.
When I arrived, I let the owner know that I was Celiac and he told me the ingredients in the batter as well as that they had a separate fryer.
I was surprised that for $15.50 + tax, the meal comes with a bottled drink! I chose water because I don't like soda, but this is a great value! I also added a side of delicious mushy peas for $2.50 that I ate once I was home.
Although they're closed Sundays and Mondays, I definitely prefer The Codfather to their gluten-free fish & chips competitors Summer House ($35.95 + tax and no drink) and Lazy Joe's ($18.95, cornmeal breading & no drink.)

I came because of the other reviews and was STILL shocked! Amazing food! I got the fish and chips. The person at the register was super knowledgeable! Told me all the ingredients and separate fryers even without asking. Absolutely amazed. My best meal since being diagnosed celiac 5 years ago!
Wow! So yummy. The owner even let me know what they used to make the gluten free batter and the clan chowder (also gluten free). Very generous portions. And they brought me apple cider vinegar since I can't have the malt vinegar (anyone else miss malt vinegar for their fries?) Be prepared for a wait. The line went to the door the whole time we were there, which shows everyone knew the wait would be worth it.
My husband found this place when he was in town and raved about it. I came back on his next trip and he said we had to try it. He swore the GLUTEN FREE FISH & CHIPS were just like I remembered from years ago. HE. DID. NOT. LIE!! Seriously, it didn’t make sense that these were GF AND they even give you Apple Cider Vinegar in place of the Malt Vinegar. It’s heaven!! I’m sure the rest of the offerings are just as amazing because the owners truly love what they get to share with their customers. Just do yourself a favor and give them a try. BONUS: There was no heavy, oily feeling after the meal that you would expect. You’re willing to pay that cost but you don’t have to here.
6/23 - still so good!!
Update 12/2022 - still amazing!
Best fish and chips (gluten free or non) that I've ever had. An order comes with 1 very large piece of fish and a decent amount of fries - they will bag up the GF separate from the non GF if you are with others.
Tartar sauce is GF and probably the best I've ever had! Haven't tried the Chowder yet but it is gluten free and probably great as well
Very nice crew and highly recommend!! Separate fryers & prep station. We ordered 1 GF with 4 regular orders and had no issues for me (celiac)
Traveling through and read some reviews so we stopped to check it out. Wow! We were so impressed with the knowledgeable and friendly staff. They could tell me exactly how the food was prepared and all the ingredients. I had the classic cod fish & chips and my partner had the haddock - both were A-MAZING. Seriously, so good!!
The person who was working there (the owner maybe??) was very clear with what was gluten free. He told me exactly what was in the gluten free batter they used and gave me apple cider vinegar instead of malt vinegar.
The cod was not very good in my opinion, but I am not actually the biggest fan of fish generally, so it was good as far as fish goes. The chips were good.
The breading that they use on the fish to fry in dedicated fryers is perfect. The serving size is generous and the Clam Chowder is a MUST. We have a car plug in cooler and I brought the Clam Chowder along on our road trip. What a gem of a restaurant and a fantastic, safe place for GF dining.
Gluten free menu with Dedicated frier! I’m not gluten free but my wife is. My wife had the GF fish, chips, and fried peas. She said it was amazing.
This is best fish and chips in Las Vegas. I grew up in New England where fish and chip shops were everywhere. The Codfather has the best I’ve ever had!
