Good burgers with GF bun. I was told to stay away from the fries by the server so that was nice.

The food was decent, and they knew what was gluten-free. That was nice. The only problem was that the only thing gluten-free was the hamburger and most condiments. They charge a flat fee of 16 bucks for a hamburger and french fries. Given that you can't eat french fries (not GF), they don't offer a discount. So basically you are spending $16 on a airport grade hamburger with a gluten-free bun. I should mention that the gluten-free bun is a 1.89 up charge as well. So the actual price was closer to $18 for a meal that suddenly feels relatively dismal after you see the final price tag. After we ate here we were still hungry so we went down to a place called Islander Bar near gate D4 and had an amazing fish taco dinner that was about the same price. Far more generous serving of food and as long as you get the fish grilled and not fried you are in the clear from gluten. I appreciate this place has efforts to provide a gluten-free bun, but for a hamburger so small that I had room for another meal afterwards, I have to say it's not worth $18.

Expensive to eat in plastic dishes. Specially the kids mini burger, they should be called micro burger.I do not which kind of kid could be satisfied with this...

Great gluten free knowledge. They have a dedicated fryer, but my server told me that they had been having some issues with cross contamination, so I shouldn't get fries. They do have gluten free buns. Very nice place, especially for an airport.

Rosemarie who greeted us was VERY knowledgeable and helped me navigate the menu effortlessly. She crossed off all items with gluten. (Most places just shove an allergen binder at you, or worse just give you a blank look when you say “gluten”) so nice to be well taken care of!! Staff is very well taught.

Based on previous reviews we made our way here. I have severe celiacs and end up in an ambulance on my way to the ER when I have any so eating in the airport is scary and very limited. Rosemarie was who greeted us and was very helpful. She crossed out all of the items I couldn’t eat. She informed us that the second fryer was down so not to eat the fries or bacon due to cross contamination right now. Should be fixed soon. Even if I get sick she informed my server and did her best to protect me. That’s a win as far as I’m concerned. Also the shakes are safe without whip cream

Sooo, as I was reading the reviews, one person spoke of the infamous and majestic Rosemarie. Fear not friends, she is real and knows her stuff. She specifically took the time to mark off every item that wasn’t gluten free friendly and, as a 16 year celiac, she even knew a few ingredient choices that weren’t celiac friendly that I didn’t even know about. Pretty impressed. I haven’t gotten the food yet, I don’t know if it will taste as well as the service, but I don’t care. I’m hungry can I’ve been traveling all day, and I feel like I’m not going to be glutenated! Sweet!

Three stars as a rating is required but didn’t eat here because couldn’t. They are gf friendly ONLY if you aren’t sensitive to cross contamination. Offer chips instead of fries but the burgers are just slapped, into a gf bun, with no effort at making them safe for celiacs. Was turned away as they said they couldn’t accommodate celiac. Disappointing since this is listed on this site as celiac friendly. Do appreciate the honesty. Miami airport was impossible to eat at as a celiac. Had to make do with cereal I’d brought and milk from Starbucks.

Updating my previous review as I was able to try this place this time around. As others mention, Rosemarie is very helpful and takes the time to go through the menu and cross off items that are not gluten free. Was very impressed that she took the time given the busy environment. I had a hamburger with GF bun and various sides. Both normal and sweet potato fries are fried in a separate fryer so no issues there. —PREVIOUS REVIEW— Would have loved to try this place, but their posted hours are not correct. Was told they do not open until 7:30AM. Typical for airport restaurant to just do what they want.

A couple things first: 1. This very place is expensive! Be prepared to spend $10 and up 2. It’s not the best food in the world lol But to a celiac who hadn’t had REAL FOOD in a week..this place was heaven! I ended up ordering off of the kids menu, since I was weary about the price and getting sick...gobbled up everything and was absolutely fine..NO REACTION..I was thrilled..went back and got more!

Terrible experience. I was very clear about my allergy and my grilled cheese came out on gluten-filled Texas toast. I asked if it was gluten free and the server said "it's just bread and cheese, so yeah". I only knew this was not gf because I had been to a different location before. I said I need gluten free and he was surprised I needed my bread to be gluten free. I am still in shock. When my gluten free grilled cheese came out, it wasn't cooked at all. Just cold cheese on a bun. The sweet potato fries were cold also. This location is an embarrassment to The Counter franchise. The location in NYC has always exceeded my expectations.

Never had a reaction at this location. They have a gluten free menu and a dedicated fries fryer. You can make custom burgers and salads. Their gluten free buns aren’t the best, they fall apart easily, but it is pretty hard to find a safe burger joint so I don’t mind too much. Just place your order for a gluten allergy and make sure you double confirm everything will be cooked on clean/ separate surfaces.

We had put off coming to this location because when it first opened staff were stumped. They are now very educated about celiac and know about cross contamination. They cook the GF bun separately, fries are GF, and they said they have dedicated milk shake metal cups. Kiddo did not have a shake so can’t vouch for it. But was able to customize a burger, liked the bun and the fries.

The Counter is awesome. I have eaten here numerous times and the servers are all very knowledgeable about how the gluten free food is prepared. As a family, we get the fries trio, substituting onion rings (NOT gluten free) for plain fries. The gluten free fries trio includes: Parmesan, sweet potato and plain French fries. The fries are made separately for us GF/celiac people. I also recommend the gluten free Chipotle turkey burger, with the GF bun. There are so many options, and custom burgers (for your gluten, gluten free, and vegetarian friends) you can make. They accommodate everyone. Highly recommend this location.

Our food was good. The chili cheese fries were good. Our burger was ok but came missing half the toppings. Both our friends who are not GF ordered the wings and there was SO much salt they couldn't eat them & waitress insisted there wasn't an error, but reluctantly said she could get them something else. The food took forever to arrive, so there was no way we were waiting for more. Her excuse for horrible service was that over 3 people didn't show up for work. However I gave it a good rating bc my food was good and there was a great selection. I still feel good without reaction .

I didn’t get sick afterwards, so I think I was in the clear. It was very good and didn’t taste like a GF bun. Everyone’s knowledgeable about gluten, AND they go the extra mile to not only change gloves, but get your toppings and salad base from the back, where it hasn’t been touched and there’s no cross-contamination possible! I’m so impressed. The turkey and vegan burgers do have gluten in them, but a beef burger in a salad bowl is totally safe. Also! By virtue of their limited offerings, the fries are the ONLY thing that’s fried in their fryer, so you can have regular or sweet potato fries with no problem.

I have to take two stars off my review. Each time I eat here I am careful to ask about everything (or so I thought). I didn’t feel great a couple times but couldn’t imagine why because they seemed very careful so I chalked it up to coincidence. Then tonight when I realized the onion strings my husband ordered weren’t on my menu I asked about the fryer. My sweet potato fries are cooked IN THE SAME FRYER! He said they change the oil so it’s fine. What?! Burgers are good but do not eat the fries if you are celiac.
