Menu clearly marked, waitress was knowledgeable. Falafel was very tasty, hummus was bland. Pork loin was good, ask for extra aloi. Burger was actually medium rare as ordered and very good. Seemed like the safest place to ear in the area. No reactions. They even have a dessert- blondie.
My husband and I (one celiac, one gluten sensitivity) visited this restaurant after the great reviews on this app. We explained our allergies to the waitress, and she understood and entered into the computer correctly, stating no bun on either of our burgers and noting the allergies. However, the kitchen staff prepared our 2 burgers with regular buns. When asked if they could be re-prepared, our waitress was very helpful and had them redo it. However, then the burgers were very undercooked when they brought them back. We were very disappointed.
We had dinner there two times during our ski trip. My son who has Celiac had a good variety of foods to choose from. The staff and chef were knowledgeable about Celiac and cross contamination. Several items in the menu are marked gluten free. The food is fresh and locally sourced.
Our server was excellent and very knowledgeable about celiac disease and how serious cross contamination is before I even brought it up. The menu clearly labels everything that is gluten free and even let us know the frier was a shared frier but could alter meals as needed to make them gluten free. I had a bunless hey Jack burger which was wonderful, and they even offer a gluten free butterscotch blondie which was quite a treat! We will definitely eat here again on our next trip to the area.
It's always tricky when you try a theoretically celiac friendly restaurant on the road. Will the restaurant live up to the claim? In the case of Dish Cafe, it certainly does live up to it. My husband and I stopped while on a trip. The wait staff was knowledgeable, pleasant and efficient. The food was outstanding. We will happily return any time we are in the area.
They did a wonderful job accommodating GF. I had the Hey, Jack! Burger, which is a gastronomic experience. I am a burger enthusiast. I can say without reservation that they Hey Jack burger is my favorite I have had anywhere in the country. A cacophony of flavors, the Hey Jack Burger shouldn't make sense, with pimento cheese, cherry pepper slaw, cheese, and a fresh, big fat grass-fed beef burger. The other flavors enhance the beef, instead of overpowering it. Who knew this tiny place next to the dollar store specializing in local, farm-fresh ingredients with fantastic gluten-free options would serve up such an amazing creation.
Have eaten here several times when traveling. To their credit, multiple GF options labeled on menu and even modified the falafel to avoid cross contamination. Also, the GF Blondie is great! Cons: service is SUPER slow (every time we go, takes about 2 hours!), they nickel and dime you for everything ($1 each for a few sticks of carrots and another $1 for celery, etc), and many of the items lack good flavor. I want to love it, but have been unimpressed with the hummus, quiche, and the lemon vinaigrette are all flavorless! A lot of potential, but need a few more cooks and to fix the flavor.
Waiter was very knowledgeable and they have gluten free items clearly marked on the menu. They even have a gf dessert.
Was traveling and needed a place to stop for lunch that had gluten free options for my young son who was recently diagnosed with celiac. This place was perfect! All the food was amazing and he was able to eat something gluten free and healthy. We will be stoping here on every trip in the future! Thank you so much!
Gluten free items listed on menu. When I asked Eric, our server, he immediately said he would go let the kitchen staff know they had a gluten free order coming. I had a special salad of the day that was gluten free. Gluten free Butterscotch Blondie was one of the dessert items on the menu. Definitely recommend and will be back when traveling in the area.
