We had dinner here twice and thought that the food was very good. We had a light meal the first time and the special “fish of the day” the second night. The fish, monkfish in our case, was excellent. It was not served with vegetables, so we ordered a side salad, which was quite good. The gluten-free fries were very good. The service was good, even though they are struggling with less staff than normal (typical of all restaurants on the South Island). Good GF knowledge, some information on the menu.

Went here with my 6 year old coeliac daughter. They do a huge kids platter which was great and I think they also do a kids GF grilled chicken and veges. They also have an amazing colouring activity pack which distracted my tired and starving kids while they waited for dinner!

Menu clearly marks which items are gluten free as well as those that can be modified to be GF. My husband and I shared the green lip mussels as a starter and I had the mushroom risotto. So good!

I popped in the afternoon to check if it would be Coeliac safe, and they were so great. I ended up placing my order then so the chefs could prep it before hand, and as I was eating in at opening time, they changed the oil in fryer so I could have fried chicken. Delicious food and very patient waitstaff and chefs who were happy to answer my questions and ensure I was safe.
