I would say safety-wise it’s not the best— it’s also not bad, all things considered. I eat here quite frequently and don’t typically get sick. Or, if I do (as is the risk with eating out), it’s mild. I usually order the strawberries and cream, the lemon, a Nutella with marshmallow, or a strawberries and Nutella. All delicious.
If I recall, all their syrups for coffee are GF; food GF items marked on menu, most items on menu can be modified to be GF, staff is knowledgeable and will change gloves, clean workspace, etc if asked. Items come out with a cute GF flag. From previous visits I remember them mentioning having a separate crepe pan in the kitchen that they use. I am unsure if that area is only GF but pretty sure. Keep in mind it is in the same kitchen as Gluten items.

Order GF and they came out with GF toothpicks indicating they should be safe but got super sick anyway. Considering it’s an extra $3 for GF batter it’s super upsetting I got so sick from it.

Tried it out and they messed up my order twice. Both times swearing it was gf. Ate 3-4 bites of the 2nd one and decided I was done trying. They refunded my order but I ended up sick as can be. Definitely don’t recommend.

Delicious! There is a huge menu and you can have any crepe batter swapped for a GF version. I had a turkey, bacon, avocado, and Swiss cheese GF crepe. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The line is almost always out the door, but it is worth it. They have Buckwheat as well as Gluten Free batter for the crepes. Highly recommend the strawberry Nutella crepe!

I’m gluten free and cannot express how delicious my blueberry and lemon curd crepe was this morning. If you’re within 30 miles, go here! I use to make crepes before finding that I had celiac disease. We’re from St Louis and I will be back! Best crepes ever!!!

I’ve been here once before and did not have the best experience. I was shamed for ordering GF and asked several questions regarding my intolerance. Over all it was a big ordeal that left me in tears as I was eating my food. Today, I had the thought to give them a second chance because my fiancé and I were looking to a brunch spot that we could both eat and enjoy. I am so glad I did! Since my last visit they are now a certified facility and openly advertise their precautions and are open to any questions you may have! When I ordered it was no hassle and no questions asked and the food was delicious! Will definitely be back!

We visited The French Market in downtown Knoxville, despite previous reviews on this app. When we ordered, we asked the staff about the glutenfree status of the crepes -- and they reported that the buckwheat is wheat-free, but that there is the risk of cross-contamination. I do have diagnosed Celiac Disease, but also acknowledge that cross-contamination is all around us, most every time we eat out. I'm therefore torn how to rate this restaurant -- they are aware of and acknowledge the cross-contamination in the products, so for that alone, for those with a sensitive or who choose to eat gluten-free this is a valid option for you. For someone who is incredibly sensitive or allergic to gluten, I would recommend avoiding all dishes since there is simply SO much wheat flour in use at this establishment.
Tasty food but NOT gluten-free! The buckwheat crepes still have wheat flour in them. I don't have celiac's but am somewhat sensitive to gluten. I love eating here but wish they had a gluten-free shells. They have good vegetarian options but not vegan.
As a former employee, I can honestly report that the first ingredient listed on the "Buckwheat" batter is Wheat Flour. It is cut with buckwheat. It is by NO MEANS gluten friendly.
No
Delicious food but gluten free friendly only, no dedicated grill. I had the vegetarian deluxe crepe - swiss cheese, baby spinach, tomatoes, artichokes hearts, avocado, and feta on a buckwheat crepe. My husband liked his but he ate a bunch of mine too. Delicious. Delightful owner.
Yes
All the food is delicious but the buckwheat crepes are processed in a factory that processes wheat, so eat at your own risk. Definitely not for people with celiac's.
No
Lots to choose from!! Buckwheat crapes were great!!! Very filling. Was a little surprised at the cost for a savory crape but was very good
Would give it 5 stars if it buckwheat crepes were 100% GF. Food is awesome and it's just a fun place to be/eat. As another reviewer said, not for those with Celiac.
Great buckwheat gf crepe, but not for true celiacs. Awesome tasting if you're just sensitive or intolerant
Stopped on the way through because of the reviews here. Staff was really friendly, crepes were great, both the savory and sweet in the buckwheat. Had GF beer from Spain. Also located on a fun street with nightlife. Definitely enjoyed the food and visit.
Yes
Excellent Crepes. Had savory and sweet. You will not be disappointed.
Yes
great gluten free buckwheat crepes. my favorite strawberries & cream
I would give this five stars but I've gotten sick on occasion when they were really busy and forgot to clean off the stove. Buckwheat crepes but the buckwheat is from a factory in France that sometimes processes wheat products. 90% of the time this is the perfect place to go!
