Don’t let the unassuming location in the gas station put you off. This place has the best falafel that I’ve had in years (fried at the time you order) and I have never gotten sick from eating there! You will have to specify that your order is gluten free for an “allergy” and ask them to change gloves. They know what to do when you have specified that.
The gluten free meal option is the rice bowl, which is generous in size and comes with as many fresh, tasty toppings and condiments as you wish. I believe that all, or almost all of the sauces are GF and all the veggie garnishes are GF. You can choose from falafel, chicken shawarma, of beef and lamb gyros. Don’t forget to grab some dolmas (stuffed grape leaves) to go; they’re the best ones in town, in my opinion, and they have some serious competition from other tasty Mediterranean restaurants in LFK. It’s also an incredible deal for fresh, healthy, and fast food at 10.95 for a meal big enough to make leftovers.
So glad I read the reviews and wasn’t put off by the fact that it is inside a gas station. The place is very clean. Gluten-free items are clearly marked on the menu and you watch them prepare your dish. I got the chicken Shawarma bowl with lots of fun, fresh toppings and two sauces. Sort of like Chipotle but with Greek/Indian food. And we filled the gas tank before we left! Would definitely go again.
Fantastic, fresh food. Don’t be put off that it is inside a gas station. Restaurant was consistently busy while I was there. Only complaint is that food was inconsistently seasoned—some bites of chicken were remarkably salty. Otherwise, chicken, rice, and hummus were delicious.
