We have had really good luck here (at several of their locations in WI actually). The staff is usually pretty informed. They will typically ask how allergic you are to gluten to find out if you can tolerate their fried items. When in doubt, ask them how the food is prepared to avoid CC issues.
I've been to this location a couple times. A few years back, the server neglected to mark down that I needed the gluten free version of a menu item, then claimed that what was brought out was gluten free (it wasn't). The most recent time everything went fine, although to be honest the food here is just meh on a good day.
They have a gluten free menu that has a decent amount of options. No dedicated fryer. Probably OK for someone that is not terribly sensitive, but based on the attitude of the place and the server I wouldn't feel 100% confident that CC did not occur.
No dedicated gf cooking space but the staff are very accommodating. I ordered the peanut stew, which was delicious, and never got sick. I wouldn't recommend getting anything made on the grill due to the likelihood of cross contamination.
What a great place to eat. I have an extreme allergy to gluten and the waitress was 100% aware of gluten. I ordered the GF Cajun chicken and it was awesome. Will definitely come back here. The others in our group ordered non-gluten free food and when asked for recommendations, on food choices, our waitress immediately responded; she really knew the menu. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we had a great time at the Great Dane.
It was ok. Service wasn't good - wait staff forgot a number of things and it took 20+ minutes for a meal item to come out (after all the other meals appeared). Waiter didn't understand questions about fries being gluten free (made in separate fryer) and was rather condescending about it.
I ordered a "gluten free" dish at this location. I kept finding random pasta (that I removed myself) that matched my friend's non-GF pasta dish. I was sick as ever the next day! (The sauce must've been thickened with flour...) email sent to company....NO reply. We will never go back there, and we have told everyone we know to not got to this establishment!!!!
Had curry chicken noodle bowl- it was a touch spicy, but fabulous taste. Also beet salad with oranges n goat cheese was very tasty. Service was great for us at 1230 on a Saturday afternoon. We had multiple people helping at our table of 4 to clean away dishes or bring refills. Everyone's food was very good.
Their idea of gluten free is no bun burgers and salads. Now that might be consider to some people gluten friendly but deffenantly not gluten free. Serves was terrible in this order. 1. Asked for an ice water, when it came it came with a rapper from a red crayon in it, 2. All five of us (three adults, 2 children 10years and 2years) ordered fries with our meals, only one of us got fries, 3. Put cheese on prime rib wrap when was spacificly told of lactose intolerance. In the waitresses defense..,I'm pretty sure she didn't know Gouda was a cheese. That's really sad! 4. Brought wrap back a second time now only thing in the wrap is prime rib. What happened to the peppers and onions! 5. Waitress tells us because of all the mistakes she has taken one of the beers off our bill as well the wrap THEY messed up. So that saved us a total of $2.75. Wow!
