I had the gluten free moose tracks. It was delicious and I had no issues. I noticed vegan and gf option as well as gf vegan cone which has a separate case but they were out of it. Portion was as expected. I did not ask about safety protocols.
Hard ice cream only. They offer gluten-free waffle cones, and have a selection of gluten-free ice cream, however, when I asked the server how they handle a gluten allergy and if they would get a new scoop and use a new container, he replied no, but I can absolutely do that for you. So be aware that they don’t have protocols in place unless asked, he did get a new scoop and use a new bin which I really appreciated. I didnot get sick.
We were there last year without issue. This year it was chaotic. Initially told only the flavors listed in the allergy square on the menu were GF, which I thought was not accurate. Asked a second staff and they confirmed that other flavors were GF and they would let me know if I asked about a specific flavor. After ordering from a third person (it’s a walk up window, there are a bunch of staff randomly offering to help the crowds of people trying to order), she didn’t get the ice cream from a new carton. I was concerned so she put it back, put on gloves, got a fresh scoop, but scooped from the same carton. When I told this to the second staff she told me (with attitude) I didn’t say it was an allergy. So finally the third staff got the ice cream from a new carton but I don’t plan on returning.
