Food was great, staff was very knowledgeable and made it clear there wasn’t any cross contamination. We split risotto and I had the surf and turf. It was all delicious and they made it clear it was GF when they brought it out. The only downside which is personal preference not related to gluten.. they check on you way too often.
Had an amazing meal here tonight! Most dishes are GF / can be easily made GF. They made sure that everything brought to our table was gluten free before being offered (like the complimentary chefs tasting of the evening) and put together a custom GF desert for our anniversary. Will definitely be back!
I’ve been here before being diagnosed with celiac and it’s one of my fav restaurants! I was hesitant to go after reading some of the reviews. So happy I went because everything was great ! From the start, Zach was so helpful the whole entire way while being there! Every waiter that brought the food, would remind us which was gluten free etc. even when we got the little to go truffle desserts, Zach told me it was gluten free! Felt nice not to have to worry about a possibility of something being cross contaminated.
Really surprised to see the mixed reviews here.
We had an amazing experience, the waiter was extremely pleasant and confirmed which menu items could be made gf with the chef. There was a surprise amuse bouche right after we ordered and he immediately came by to confirm that it was gluten free before I could even wave him down to ask.
We weren't planning on ordering dessert, but it was our anniversary so out comes a beautiful dessert! He confirmed that it was gluten free, and actually not one of their normal menu items! The chef had a few left over from a special event and had offered it up as a treat just for us. We really felt like they went out of their way to accommodate the allergy and make our evening special.
No reactions to anything, and a wonderful experience all around.
called to inquire about GF options and owner was super unhelpful and not friendly stating he didn’t run a “medical kitchen” and his staff was not trained on how to handle allergies. In reality, servers were very helpful and chef advised that he could accommodate most dishes with some minor changes. Delicious food but wouldn’t return based on owners handling of allergies.
I always tell restaurants my food allergies as soon as I sit down. Our waiter said he didn’t even want to know about my food allergies until after drinks were ordered and delivered. He then pushed me to try and get a not friendly drink. Once it was time to order food, he seemed annoyed to even have the conversation with the kitchen. Mind you, I had already called ahead and the kitchen seemed like they would work with me. They do not have a dedicated GF menu. I only ordered a main course, no appetizers or salads due to limited options. The waiter said they would modify it to make sure it was safe for me and I hoped for the best. Service was awful. From the time we sat down to our main course getting delivered it was a 2.5hr wait.
My meal was surf and turf with double veggies and all sauces on the side (I got them in case others needed them but didn’t plan to use them). Halfway through our entrees, my stomach started to rumble and became upset. I was starving so I kept eating the proteins which should have been ok. By the time we had paid and were leaving, I really knew something was wrong. I had a piece of GF bread once I got home to try and help settle things and went to bed.
The next day was hell. I clearly had some exposure. I was sick and in bed, curled up with a heating pad and overall feeling like poop. All the classic signs for me of exposure as I was fine before.
I called the restaurant to complain about the service and let them know that my dinner made me sick. The manager told me that would never happen in his restaurant and I just had a virus and get over it. He didn’t seem to care at all or want to have a conversation with staff even about how to better handle folks like me in the future.
Long story short, I will never eat there again. This was two days ago and I am still paying for it digestively. I want to share my experience because others need to know.
