They have a gluten free menu. Spoke to the waitress who went to speak to the kitchen manager to check on cross contamination. They confirmed the GF pasta was cooked separately and allayed my fears about everything. Had the Mizithra Cheese & Browned Butter pasta and it was delicious. Salad starter was good and they checked the spumoni before serving that. All in all a great experience, they were happy to check everything and it was all good.
I absolutely loved the decor in the place. The waitress was friendly but not very knowledgeable. I chose the cheese and browned butter topping for my pasta and was very disappointed. It wasn't much of a sauce so it was dry. The noodles just broke apart when I mixed it together. The flavor was good but I would definitely get a different sauce next time.
My son has celiac. He didn’t love the GF pasta and was disappointed that they didn’t have gluten-free bread.
I am always cautious when it comes to trying new restaurants - especially in a new city away from home, and I rarely dare to order pasta. I am so glad I listened to the other reviews and took a chance! I dined by myself and had great service. I asked my server about allergy precautions. She said the pasta is cooked in a separate pot with fresh water, comes out with a GF flag and they use a different style of pasta (penne or rigatoni) than the regular dishes. Mine was penne which tasted like Barilla and broke apart like GF pasta, which honestly always makes me relieved and feel reassured.
I had the 3-course meal. The salad was good, the pasta and marinara sauce was amazing and the ice cream at the end was also worth going back for. I am very sensitive to CC - I’m writing this review from the next day and did not have a reaction at all. This is not a GF establishment and I almost expected to have some form of reaction, so I am pleasantly surprised. Would go back!
The manager came out and we went over the gluten free menu. He mentioned a family member with celiac disease. It was definitely a great experience. I ordered half brown butter half Alfredo pasta and it was okay but the pasta was safe and I'd definitely visit again. Ice cream for dessert was great!
The food was alright. Not much going on at 1 pm and only a couple servers. GF menu available via QR code. Grateful for GF pasta (not spaghetti) so I could enjoy the mizithra & browned butter pasta (as well as meat sauce). One of my favorites and I haven’t been to an Old Spaghetti Factory since my celiac diagnosis. Waiter knew not to put croutons on my salad. No GF bread.
I ordered delivery from here. They have a gf menu but it is basically just one type of gf pasta with various sauce options. GF pasta is what it is, I had the brown butter and cheese topping that tasted ok. My salad came in a Chinese-style takeout box and the spumoni ice cream was all right.
The order came with a mini baguette in a plastic bag, which made me really nervous. I tossed the whole bag, which was a shame because my salad dressing was in there with the bread. Overall, the food was underwhelming, but I didn't get sick so whatever.
This food was great. We were looking for an affordable place to eat, and this was it. I personally recommend getting the salad with creamy pesto sauce, gf pasta with mizithra sauce, and the spumoni ice cream. The portions are pretty large, and you get a free appetizer and dessert with any entree. Atmosphere and service were also pretty good. There is also a kids menu. We are traveling with a nine year old, and she also loved it. I would definitely recommend.
The pasta was so over cooked it was like mush
