October 25, 2024. Wow. Found this place on accident while looking for a good lunch spot. I'm usually extremely skeptical about pancakes and/or waffles, but to my surprise, this place was wonderful and perfectly safe from cross-contamination. I ordered the ham and 2 eggs plate. It came with 4 pancakes. I upgraded to the pumpkin pancakes (seasonal). Wow. Apparently, any of the buttermilk pancakes are available GF. Waffles are also available. I would highly recommend this place! Great value too.
The pancakes were amazing and the server and kitchen staff were very knowledgeable! Our server ensured the kitchen staff took the necessary precautions and I didn’t have a reaction! Basically all the pancakes and waffles can be made gluten free and they change their gloves, use separate pans, and clean work areas.
I stumbled upon this place while visiting town. It was one of the best waffles I have ever had. I ordered the gluten free strawberry waffle with their homemade strawberry syrup. They also make their own maple syrup but the manager told me that they do add a little coloring to it and I didn't want to risk it. We all know that coloring may contain either malt or barley. The whipped cream is homemade as well. I had their turkey sausage which is also gluten-free and very moist. Overall, I had a wonderful experience! Too bad I could not eat there on Monday because they are closed. Their hours are very short as well. Would definitely go back there when I go for a visit!
Many Original Pancake House locations offer gluten free pancakes. Please speak to your server about taking the proper precautions to prevent cross contamination, if necessary.
Just enjoyed a decadent meal, most items available GF (except the maple syrup, due to caramel coloring additive). No worries! The cherry kijafa blintz needs no syrup! We also enjoyed the corned beef hash omelet and a side of fruit and bacon. coffee was meh but everything else delicious! service was great!!! *not celiac, just sensitive
My boyfriend has celiac, has gotten very very sick twice in the past few months. Both times talked to the manager directly who assured us they had the kitchen staff switch out all the utensils and that they would oversee the whole thing. I do not doubt they did, I just think for highly sensitive celiac customers there is an uncontrollable factor that they are unaware of.
When asking the wait staff about GF procedures to avoid x-contamination, they were not knowledgable. Considering the promotion of GF without preparation knowledge with regular food, I asked for the manager to explain the need for a knowledgeable wait and cook staff. I actually spoke to the owner who replied that I should leave.
Delicious GF pancakes! All of their pancakes, waffles and crepes are available to be made gluten free.
Maybe the best experience we've ever had dining out with celiac. Not only was the waiter aware of celiac disease, he even caught something that we didn't realize wasn't GF and suggested an alternative (turkey sausage for regular sausage). Almost everything on the menu can be made gluten free, though. Pancakes, waffles, French toast, crepes... We'd be there every day until we tried everything, if we could only afford it.
Phenomenal. We are visiting from out of town and are tired of always having to get eggs and bacon at breakfast restaurants. So wonderful to have such a variety of GF pancakes.
Love the choice of pancakes they offer. Strawberry is my favorite with no whip cream. They serve thick cut bacon. Cooked well and never greasy. In fact our gluten free group has eaten there.
This place is amazing! My daughter ordered the gluten free chocolate chip pancakes and they were fabulous. They are very knowledgeable about which items are gluten free and use a specific area of the grill for only gluten free items.
The staff was knowledgeable and nice and even helped me pick out what I wanted. I had the gf waffle and a side of fruit. The waffle was really good and the side of fruit was amazing. Normally when you get a side of fruit at places it’s just crummy, but this one was so goooood. My boyfriend had the burrito and said it was very good just greasy.
My celiac husband has their gluten free pancakes all the time with no issues! Staff is friendly and understanding.
No reservations and there’s always a long wait on weekends, but once you’re placed at a table the service is quick.
I’m dairy+egg free and order the hash brown plate with a side of sausage and all the omelet veggies and it’s delicious.
