I ate here the day before Christmas Eve. I have celiac and have eaten here several times and the gluten free pancakes were very good. But this time I had a terrible reaction. I told the waitress I needed gluten free when she first came to the table, told her again when I ordered and she repeated it, but there was a mix up somewhere because I am certain that I was given regular pancakes. I have not been that sick since I went on a gluten free diet 8 years ago. Almost had to stay home and miss Christmas Eve dinner the next day. So be very careful and double check that you have gluten free food.
Pancakes are good! Hash browns are phenomenal. They even have waffles and crepes gfree!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed dining here this morning. It's always a challenge to find a restaurant that truly makes me feel safe about eating out. As soon as I mentioned Celiac Disease to our server, Molly, she explained that they have a separate grill, pointed out all the selections on the menu that are marked as gluten free options, and assured me that they understand how to control cross-contamination in the kitchen. Aaron, the manager, came out to our table three times to make sure I felt good about my meal and to let me know that they welcome questions. It felt wonderful to be able to relax and enjoy a meal out knowing the staff was well-trained and were taking care of me. In addition, the food was great, the service was exceptional, and the ambiance classy. Love this place!
Amazing pancakes. Can't wait to go back because so many options!
Very very great GF pancakes! I tell everyone about the ones I had
This place is awesome. Very careful with your GF selection and excellent food and service. Their GF pancakes are the best we've ever had. It's by far our favorite breakfast place. Not every Original Pancake House has GF menu and pancakes.
This place kicks ass for good gf breakfast eats
We absolutely love eating here!!! They always do a really good job of taking precautions and the food is so good!!!
I reviewed this place on YELP already but I need to get the word out. This location is NOT Celiac friendly, only the OPH in Rosedale is Celiac Friendly. The staff here had NO CLUE about Celiac when I visited this past October. They use the same Griddle for everything, please avoid. Go to Rosedale instead, feel free to ignore me and go anyway but ask them how they separate GF from non-GF and see what they say. You were warned. On the other hand the Rosedale location has a separate griddle and section of GF foods.
Use separate plates for the most delicious GF pancakes!
Maple Grove location has a great gluten free menu. On the actual menu, not a silly xerox copy in a binder, but on the actual menu. The chef knew well about GF and safety and cross-contamination. The waitress was very kind and helpful as well.
I missed eating here and really missed my banana pancakes! I was so excited to eat here this morning with my husband I enjoyed every bite!! YUM! When I ordered I made sure I said that I'm GF first before I said my order.
This restaurant was very knowledgable about gluten free items and cross contamination! The food was absolutely delicious and very filling! Very impressed!!
Wow! The pancake choices are great!
Great place to go when craving some great pancakes or waffles. I have always had a great experience and there are a lot of choices. Not every location offers Gluten Free options.
Have “gluten friendly” pancakes that are the fluffiest encountered. They have only one kitchen so cross-contamination risks.
One star: No GF pancakes or crepes like other locations. Good breakfast food, just no GF specialties.
Unknown if the pancakes have their own grill
Very knowledgeable management and staff. This particular location has separate waffle irons and prep for the GF products and GF items will be served on different-color plates. Check with managers for egg dishes and specials - they’re happy to help. I eat here almost weekly and never have problems. :)
Awesome! How have I lived in St Louis this long and never been here! Plenty of gluten free choice and very knowledgeable about allergens !
My boy got really sick after eating here. It was super busy with multiple Christmas parties and even though we spoke to manager and all about avoiding cross contamination my son got stomache ache soon after. I would not recommend coming here if you are highly allergic. Also FYI their pancakes even though can be gluten free are not dairy free because Mix has dairy in it.
My gluten-loving friend swears that their GF pancakes are better than normal ones! Staff is trained for celiac/allergies. I recommend the banana pancakes, the apple waffle, and the potatoes - but not at the same time, because they give you huge portions.
I used to frequent this place years ago before I acquired a severe gluten sensitivity. Back then, it was a great place. It’s gone down hill drastically. I recently went there with my family. My niece, mother, and I all ordered the gluten free pancakes. Surprisingly, we all got sick. The place was dirty and cross contamination was clearly unavoidable for them. Beware and be careful!
I had the most awesome experience here !! I ordered the blueberry gluten free waffle and I asked my server if the waffle was prepared with the other waffles. he stated that he wasn't sure and that he was going to ask therefore he came back and told me that they clean the waffle maker before making gluten free waffles. My suggestion is that you and sure you tell your server that you would like the waffle maker cleaned. the store manager Misty was so amazing she came out and spoke with us she wanted me to check the ingredient to ensure that I was able to eat the gluten-free waffle because of my other allergies that I have. she brought out the ingredients to the waffles to share with me and I was so excited that I was able to eat them. The only thing I wasn't able to eat was any of the syrup they are not a hundred percent Maple and because of other allergies I have as well I was not willing to try out an experiment unless it was a hundred percent maple. Next time I am just bringing my own syrup. I have to say I'm extremely excited to be able to eat breakfast somewhere that is gluten free friendly and it helps to have the staff be understanding and educated. although my server wasn't sure he didn't blow me off he went and checked. I wish we had a Misty at every restaurant that I went to!!! there are plenty of gluten-free choices on their menu !!!
The gluten free pancakes are so delicious. They are light and fluffy. The omelets are huge and so filling. The staff is very knowledgeable of their gluten free menu.
There is NO gluten free menu. They claim they always clean the grill between every order. What that probably means is they scrape it off. It’s unlikely they are actually cleaning anything, including the utensils to turn the pancakes. That said, they do have gluten free pancake batter and can add strawberry or blueberry compote on top. Pancakes were decent and I didn’t get sick. I’m gluten/wheat sensitive and get headaches within 20 minutes of contact with wheat-if someone grilled bread then placed my chicken on the same grill I’ll know it. So I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re celiac. The staff is knowledgeable but they’re not going through any hoops for you. The manager said, ‘There is flour floating through the air in the kitchen.’
Many choices of eggs and breakfast items. Manager reviewed ingredients for gluten and other allergies and was very considerate. Food was great and I did not have any health issues. I had eggs, turkey sausage and pan potatoes with salt and pepper. They also have gluten free pancakes. No dedicated gluten free area in the kitchen.
This location does not offer the gluten free pancake mix that it seems some of the other locations do, so I was disappointed. My server was very nice and extremely helpful when it came to ordering. Their oven baked omelets are awesome and I swapped the pancake side for fresh fruit and it was very fresh. I would recommend coming here, but you’ll be ordering normal everyday gluten free breakfast items.
Saturday morning and wife's gone, I can't cook Gluten free pancakes. Stop by the "original pancake house" for a to-go order of GF pancakes to take home to my boy. The don't to take out orders on weekends because they are too busy???? Strange?? Plus the restaurant was half empty. Bad business, bad customer service, lack of common sense, and just dumb. Thanks for nothing.
They have a special menu that tells you which pancakes they can make with certified gluten free pancake mix. The pancakes are fluffy and have the same texture as a regular pancake, which is typically hard to find especially at a chain type restaurant. Our waitress was great; super attentive and timely even with being short staffed.
the menu is very clear on which items can be made gluten free. staff was very knowledgeable! is a little more pricey compared to a normal pancake house, but the size proportions are huge!!! well worth the money and no reaction afterwards! will most definitely come back

Only select locations have gluten free pancakes available. The locations found here have announced they are serving them.
