Review of The Peninsula Boutique and Café

We chose this restaurant because it had gluten free options for my coeliac partner. It’s an intimate space and the service is excellent and helpful. The menu identifies all items that have gluten in them however it was not accurate. There was a barley risotto did not have a sign next to it indicating gluten which raised alarm bells. So many restaurants think gluten is only found in wheat. So my husband decided on the cauliflower soup and to our surprise the waitress returned saying there was gluten in the soup even though it was identified as GF. Eventually it was decided the pumpkin soup was GF. I had the best club sandwich I have ever eaten and wow I have eaten a lot so I feel I can safely say it was stupendous. This cafe is not cheap! Soup, club sandwich, 1 beer and three very small glasses of wine cost us just over $100 AUD. The staff are helpful with GF and the attached patisserie is exceptional. Attached is a photo of the menu.

Celiac friendly?
