Came here for an early valentines date with my husband who is vegetarian and I am gluten intolerant. Absolutely amazing food staff and the vibe of the pub is so homely and welcoming whilst being professional. Just wow, the chicken tenders to start for me and the nachos for my other half, amazing! Strongly recommend both. Look burger for me for mains and the vegan mushroom pie for my other half, again amazing food! The pastry was amazing not just for gluten free and vegan but in general! And the burger was juicy and the bun didn’t crack once when I was picking it up, chips were not at all oily and have a lovely crunch. Brownie with icecream to finish it off for me and for my partner the spiced apple and date crumble with custard. Just wow. Everything we had was amazing and we will definitely be coming back. Looking forward to trying the teriyaki salmon next time.

Completely gluten free kitchen. Could not believe the ENTIRE menu was available to my family. We had delicious fish and chips, steak pie with amazing pie crust. Huge portions. Deserts to follow. Beautiful setting. Traditional British pub with warm atmosphere and the staff were amazing. Very high praise - we are a highly sensitive GF family.

Fantastic food cooked in a 100% gf kitchen. Very friendly staff, excellent service. We dined there on 4 out of 5 days during our stay in Kent. We chose something different each night and couldn’t fault it.

Eaten here several times as it's completely GF. Always feel not just safe but 'normal' as there's no need to mention coeliac. There are lots of Dairy Free options for those needing them, and vegetarian and vegan menus too. Food is great and staff are lovely and friendly. Range of desserts is a highlight. Cosy, traditional pub setting. Dog friendly.

I’ve been to the red lion more times than I can count! Including birthdays, Sunday lunches, Valentine’s Day and Christmas day! It’s such a relief to be able to eat anything on the menu and not have to worry! Every meal has always been fantastic and I always recommend it to everyone!

The entire menu is gluten free and is coeliac uk approved! And the food is so good, especially the sticky toffee pudding. Couldn’t recommend more, lovely little pub with very friendly staff! Gluten free beer is also available which is always nice!

We went here for a birthday meal. The waitress was lovely. Food was really nice for all of us. The knowledge of staff was very good. We were allowed to bring a cake but they wouldn't let it near the kitchen ( The cake was gf/df but more than happy with their request as being a coeliac happy to know they are keeping us safe, we really only brought it to sing Happy Birthday then took it home.) Desserts were also very tasty. All in all a really lovely night out. Will definitely return as feel safe to eat here.

I ate here with my family in April 2023. the kitchen is completely gluten free. the food was delicious and my gluten eating family could not taste any difference. it felt wonderful to be able to try something from everyone else’s place - a complete luxury when eating out.

Completely gluten free pub with a lovely large beer garden. Book if you can, it gets busy. We went as a group of 8 and everyone enjoyed their food. Burgers were great!

100% gluten free dedicated restaurant. Wow what a rare find. Somehow it didn’t feel right not questioning the staff about food & allergies! Amazing food which was piping hot. Can’t remember the last time I ate a pastry pie in a restaurant. Friendly waitress & quaint interior. If in this area this is definitely worth a visit. Will travel here again just to eat in the Red Lion

We visited this pub last month and returned again a few nights ago. Absolutely amazing is an understatement!! Everything is GF, portions are big, very tasty and loads to choose from. For once people with wheat/gluten allergies and celiac disease are spoilt for choice. Would highly recommend to everyone. Allergy or not, best pub in the area!

Just visited for the first time for a Sunday lunch with my partner and parents. As a cealiac, I find it really hard to eat safely and confidently at restaurants but as this pub is completely gluten free I was able to enjoy my meal with zero worries. The food was amazing and the service was too. My partner and both parents who aren’t usually gluten free also loved their meals and said you’d never know it was gluten free. There are plenty of dairy free/vegan options too as well as really well labeled allergens on the menu. I would recommend this place to anyone!! The Yorkshire puddings were my favourite and I could’ve eaten an entire plate of them. Thanks to the lovely staff…we will definitely be back! 😍
