Asked about gluten free and the selection was pretty minimal. The waiter was nice, but unsure so he asked the manager and she was very rude. Barely acknowledged me and said I could order the grilled shrimp. And then added “we also have veggie burgers” sooo she very clearly didn’t even know what gluten is. How do you work in a restaurant and not know about a very common food allergy?

Our waiter was knowledgeable and answered all my questions: made suggestions, and even went to check with the kitchen on menu items. I simply said I have a severe wheat allergy (that’s easier to explain than celiac). Great food. Lovely view. Great service

Had some difficulty finding menu items but the staff worked with me. I appreciated their patience. When they brought out my food it was brought out in three separate side dishes, would have been nice to just have a plate of food.

They did not have a separate gluten free menu and our waiter was not knowledgeable of gluten free at all so I went by the reviews on here. I got the Royal Reef shrimp Pot based on a previous review on here. The shrimp was delicious.

Maybe I just had bad luck. We asked our server about gluten free options, and he laughed and said maybe I could have a grilled shrimp bucket or something, but he wasn’t sure. Then said if I just found something that looked good they could see what they could do. Since a previous reviewer said they’d had the seafood pot, I went with that. When I asked him if it was gluten free, he said, “It should be pretty gluten free.” My husband gave him the lecture about how serious it is and how sick I could get, and was ready to leave, but I just trusted the previous reviewer and tried that. I didn’t get sick. I probably won’t be back.

My husband is celiac so finding a seafood restaurant that is celiac friendly is always nice. The Reef does not have a gluten free menu but our server pointed out the menu items that were gluten free. There was a good selection and the food was delicious!

We have been here three times. Each of those visits my celiac hubby has had the same 1/2 Seafood Boil bucket. Lots of food and NEVER an adverse reaction!!!

They don't have a gluten free menu, but the waitress was very knowledgeable and was more than willing to accommodate. the food was delicious.
Went here with family while on vacation. Called ahead of time and spoke to the manager (Chase), who was very friendly & knowledgeable. Said if we had any questions while there to ask for him. They don't have a gluten-free menu & the gluten-free items aren't flagged in the menu, but the staff is VERY knowledgeable and the chefs will accommodate if/when they can. Our waiter (Warren) said his wife is GF and he knew the menu very well. Even knew what sauces were/weren't GF off the top of his head (BBQ has flour, but Ranch is safe). My wife is the celiac & she ordered the "Beach Bird" (Chicken with cheese/bacon over a bed of rice with seasoned vegetables on the side). Substituted the BBQ for ranch. Lots of flavor and no bad after-effects. Really looking forward to going back!
