I've ate here quite a bit over the years, they used to have quite a bit of items marked GF, they may have updated their menu over the years and some of the GF symbols are gone, but just ask, most meats and salads should be GF. I order salads, GF burger bun, steak, porkchop, mashed potatoes. Not much of appetizers or finger foods are GF as the fryer is not safe, but the dinner dishes and sides usually are. We don't go here as much anymore as the service is always mediocre, at times bad, with maybe a rare night where they are spot on (usually a weekend night in the winter) but in the summer they are a mess. If we go to the beach, I do like to order a salad for take out.
One of the solid standbys on the Asbury boardwalk. Their fryer is not gluten free so make sure to double check on that. I loved the buffalo wings - they were able to bake them instead of fry them. The salads here are also bomb and perfect for a hot beach day. Will return again.
On vacation so I checked this app for recommendations since our hotel is almost across the street from the restaurant. Glad we came, The drinks that we got, Old Fashioned and a coconut martini was delicious. We ordered the Buffalo wings that can be made gf, they are baked. Very good. For our main course I got the Steak Frites which is skirt steak with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The fries are in a shared fryer so they are not gf. My wife got the warm lobster roll. Both dishes were so good.
I chose this restaurant because they clearly marked what was GF, what could be made GF, etc. on the menu. I ordered a fish dish that was marked GF as it was…I told the waitress I had celiac and to please check it was GF even though it was marked GF…she assured me she did and it was GF…I ate the meal and it was NOT GF I got sick a few hours later and still feel terrible the next day. DO NOT GO HERE.
Very nice staff and waiter was gf/celiac knowledgeable. It’s super busy and everything coming out of the kitchen had bread in it, so I’m sure the danger of cross contamination is pretty high, but so far so good, and I’d be back! Nice gf cocktail choices as well. My only complaint was that they had no idea what mignonette sauce was for oysters 🤷🏻♀😂 **edit to add - I eat here every time I come to AP and I never get sick. The fryer is not dedicated.
Extensive gluten free menu, however cross contamination possible for fried items. Wings, pasta, burgers & salads were all solid.
I ate here last night. My server Amelia was excellent at understanding how shared friers and gluten free works. I ordered the Pork Chop. When the food came out I had not even had a chance to look at what was placed in front of me before Amelia saw I was given the meatloaf (definitely not GF) and took it away to the kitchen. I was so glad I had not touched the plate or food. I am very sensitive. I had the Pork chop, asparagus and sweet potato. It was wonderful and I did not have any issues. Beautiful scenery and we even saw a wedding on the beach while we ate. We will be back this week!
The waiter was extremely attentive to our multiple food allergy needs. He took our list of allergies to the chef. My 13 year old son was able to eat the salmon with mashed potatoes and green beans. He loved it so much and ate the whole thing! The manager came to our table to check on us several times and explained they keep the allergy meals away from the others in the kitchen.
While many items are marked gf on the menu, our waitress kept telling me that each item I chose was not gf or had to be changed. They have 2 rating methods, one is gf and one is * meaning it could be gf. Every single thing that is marked gf apparently isn't so be sure to tell your server thst you have a gluten allergy and hope for the best.
Menu listed nachos, wings, and chips & salsa as GF. However waiter told us that chips, fries and wings are all prepared in common fryer and are cross contaminated. Glad waiter is knowledgeable. Ordered grilled chicken on GF bun with side of fresh fruit. Menu would be misleading for celiac, important to talk to staff. Positive experience.
I love when restaurants have gluten free bread options so I can get sandwiches or burgers if I'm in the mood.
Loved our meal and our server was VERY knowledgeable about gf options. Tortilla chips are GF and made separately. Lobster spinach dip was yum. Salad was fresh and portion was large enough for a meal. Burger on Gf bun (well sized and didnt fall apart) was cooked perfectly. Lovely wine and atmosphere! Will be back no doubt
Great food!! So many options labeled right on the menu. The waitress was very helpful with noting gluten free when she put in the order. The Parmesan risotto was delicious! The shrimp cocktail had huge shrimp but only 4. The lobster spinach dip was awesome!! I did not get sick at all!
Disappointing experience, at best. Food was over processed and gross. My turkey burger was pink inside so I sent it back. After talking to 3 people about the pink being the "spices" in the burger, they returned the same burger to me to eat. I feel bloated and gross but I can't tell if it's from gluten contamination or subpar, processed crap food. They have decent buns but like I said, subpar, unhealthy food. Just gross. Service was miserable too. Sweet potato fries and regular fries are NOT gluten free. Chips are supposed to be.
Many GF options noted clearly on the menu, outstanding hamburgers! Note that for the appetizers with chips, the GF option has carrot sticks and celery instead. Ok for me, it was just a surprise.
Brought our 9yo with Celiac after seeing a concert at Stone Pony and finding it on this app. Great waterfront view and laid back but modern/cool atmosphere. The menu clearly outlined GF options. After letting the staff know about our son they explained the options that would be safe, and he ordered a burger with gf bun. When the food came via a food runner there was a bowl of chips on his plate that shouldn't have been there as there was a small chance there could be cross-contamination as they were made in house. The waitress noticed ASAP before we even did and offered to recook his meal, but we knew it was minimal risk based on our son's sensitivity. Mistakes happen and was an honest one and they proactively addressed. He loved the burger (it was huge and he couldn't finish it) and he had no reaction.
The first place I’ve been to that’s isn’t 100% gf where I didn’t need to make lengthy explanations. The waitress showed us what items were gf, what items could be modified, and what items were unsafe due to cross-contamination (like fries). Had baked chicken wings and a burger on a delicious gf bun. Perfect for 4th of July dinner.
Celebrated our anniversary here tonight. Our waitress, Elana, has a family member with celiac and immediately put me at ease. My husband and I shared the ceasar salad (croutons on side), the truffle risotto, and the NY strip plate. Everything was amazing and I feel great. Elana also recommended a specialty burger as a great GF option and Tuesdays are 1/2 price burger night. We will be back!
