I felt like I was in gluten free heaven here. Most of the menu is gluten free. All of the appetizers are gluten free with the exception of the cornbread. Only wings, brussel sprouts, and fries go into the fryer. I really enjoyed the smothered fries & felt I could have got that for my entree. For the entrees pretty much all of them were gluten free except the pulled chicken & smoked half chicken due to the brine for that. All the sandwiches minus the pulled chicken you can do without a bun. All of the BBQ sauces are also gluten free. They put gluten allergy on my order which always comforts me to see on my receipt. They have a full bar, but no cocktail list. I enjoyed the margarita & the bartender was super friendly who brought our drinks. Our waitress was so kind in explaining everything & once I asked if one thing was gluten free she asked if I needed gluten free & proceeded to give me a run down of the whole menu. It really was a 10/10 experience.
This has always been one of our favorite stops in StL. We live 5 hours away but go often enough that the staff recognizes us. They are now completely up and running with the dedicated fryer and dedicated kitchen space. Their liquor license has been reinstated. They were closed to significant damage from a pipe bursting in the winter/ beginning of 2023. The gf items are not marked on the menu but the staff is very well informed and they take gf very seriously. They do not have gluten free bread. The menu could change, but right now all of the sides are gluten free. The fries are amazing, some of the best I've ever had while traveling. My favorite has always been the Duck Confit. They have a juniper berry sauce, a must try! Love this place!
The waiter was very knowledgeable about GF. We got wings to start and he said all the sauce options were GF. Then when we ordered our entree, I got the nachos from the appetizer menu. He said it was GF and that he would tell the kitchen to be aware of cross contamination. Great service and seriously the nachos were so amazing!!!!
Ordered for takeout. I placed my order over the phone because online ordering didn’t have any place to check gluten free.
I had the smothered fries and they were DELICIOUS! I was almost worried they weren’t gluten free because the cheese sauce was so yummy. I’m pretty sensitive and I didn’t get sick!
Great little neighborhood spot
Had a great dinner here with my family. They fried our wings and fries in a dedicated fryer to prevent CC. Waitress literally went through the whole menu with me and was very patient. Great food and great experience!
My 20 year old son is celiac and we went here while traveling, based on reviews in the app. It was fantastic! The waitress was super helpful and knew exactly what was GF. They make all the fries in a dedicated fryer. We shared those, he had pulled pork and brisket along with some awesome sweet potato chips, made locally and delivered in a little bag. He loved it and felt totally fine.
My daughter loves their fries! Wait staff was very knowledgeable, food is delicious
I had visited once or twice before I was diagnosed with Celiac and was so excited to go back! Our waitress knew what Celiac was, knew what on the menu was gf, notes the dedicated fryer, and told me the owners daughter has severe food allergies so the kitchen is very careful about cross-contact. All of the meats, rubs, and sauces are gf as are the fries! I had the smoky loaded fries which were crispy potato wedges smothered in baked beans, pulled pork, cheddar cheese, and green onions. Mmmmm!!! So good. I’ll definitely add The Shaved Duck to my safe list!
I have celiac. I had the pulled chicken sandwich without the bread. Caramelized onion mashed potatoes. Cole slaw. Sweet and tangy bbq sauce. Smoke and Pepper bbq sauce. All was delicious! Plenty of gluten free drink options as well. I had a Basil Mint Seattle Cider. They have gluten free beer options as well.
Great knowledgeable staff and good options for celiac disease with additional dairy intolerance. The pulled chicken and burnt ends were amazing. If that wasn’t enough, they have dog-friendly tables outside. They were very nice to the dogs, providing them a bowl of ice water. Great overall experience. Update: It was so delicious, we came back 2 days later. Wife tried the GF fryer french fries, which were amazing.
I was pleasantly surprised! After speaking with the server, discovered I would be able to have fries!! They were spectacular! Food was very good!
No separate menu, menu is not even labeled or I would be giving 5 stars. Food and service were excellent. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful. Most of the menu is gluten free. Dedicated fryer! Yay!
