so I've been here before and going again tonight but want to write here there is NOT A DEDICATED FRYER as I called the restaurant and confirmed that just now. another reviewer said they did and this not the case. there is also not a dedicated menu but I was told there are many items a that are gluten-free.

They have a separate fryer for non-gluten items so can get fries, potato skins, and house-made tortillas. Most of the smoked meats are gluten free.

Waitress was very nice! Ordered the pulled pork plate and it came out with cornbread on the plate. Wasn’t sure if it was GF or not so I waited and asked waitress when she came back to table. She said the cornbread was not GF! Glad that I double checked..
No
Awesome place to eat!! I am GF and DF. Mild and hot BBQ sauce are GF. Coleslaw is good. 2nd night in a row to eat here.
Just watch for thing deep fried. Staff knowledgeable about cross contamination

There is not a dedicated fryer and that was poorly marked on the menu. But our server was awesome and she made sure we avoided all fried foods including the chips. Meal was awesome. The knowledge of the server made saved us. Food was great.
I had a terrific meal here and my family and friends who are not GF did as well. The GF menu was extensive and our server, Mack, was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable and made sure everything was safe. I recommend Smokehouse for Celiacs and plan to return here again!
Yes
Great BBQ with several GF options. Felt great after eating here! Spent a week on the island and this was one of the best meals we had
Yes
Gluten free menu. No gluten free bread/ rolls. And there is not a dedicated fryer so we did not order anything fried.
This food is so good! The staff is knowledgeable and willing to help you with gluten free options. I had the ribs. They are tender and tasty. The bbq sauces in the table compliment the smoked meat well. (Just know the South Carolina mustard is not gluten free) The gluten free menu is extensive almost to the point of the other menu and it was reassuring to see the disclaimer about separate fryers on the bottom. The potato skins are good but you have to ask the server for them not to be fried. I was pleased with the gluten free options and the staff. A great place to eat for those with celiac.
Yes
The service and food both exceeded our expectations. Great atmosphere too with indoor dining and doors that could be opened to the covered outdoor dining and outdoor fireplace with corn hole. There were a ton of gluten free options including chili (they had a gluten free menu with the majority of the items on the main menu) and everything was really good. Would definitely recommend it!
Yes
There is a large gluten free menu but the fried items like wings and fries were denoted as being fried in common fryers and not celiac safe. I'm not sure if they do have a separate fryer as I didn't ask. I had the potato skins and ribs. The potato skins were ok but the brisket in them was pretty bland. The ribs were delicious! The atmosphere was nice but the service was a little inattentive.
Very affordable and food was good! Waitress was knowledgeable and we enjoyed our meals.
Great BBQ place to eat for GF people! My wife had many food allergies, gluten being the worst, and the Smokehouse did is good!! Our server was very knowledgeable of the foods and sauces she couldn't eat.
Very attentive to gluten free diets. Lots of options and food was delicious!

The baby back ribs were fall off the bone excellent! The mild and hot BBQ sauce are GF. I also had the loaded baked potato and coleslaw. They have GF hard cider and full bar. We sat out in the patio with a nice breeze blowing and shade from the trees. Nice atmosphere and the local entertainment was good too. Will be back to this place next year!
Yes
They were very accommodating when I said I had many food allergies, gluten being the most serious. I had grilled shrimp, without any grill prep, the baked potato and steamed green beans. Everything was delicious, and I had no problems after eating. We will be back when we are back on HHI! ❤

Separate GF menu with lots of options. I ordered the half chicken with mashed potatoes. Beware of the BBQ sauce on the table. The mustard sauce is not GF.
Food was delicious. A place to go when it's not busy. Brought out chicken on a bun. Luckily I had read that GF came without a bun. I questioned the order & kitchen remade the order without issue. Restaurant was very busy at the time of our visit

My GF children loved that they could order the ribs. They have never been able to order ribs out before. They loved them. They were not fall off the bone however. Only thing that made my child sad was that she could not have the French fries because they do not have a dedicated fryer. There were plenty of other gf side options however. They had a separate GF menu so you knew exactly what your options are and the selection was large.

Delicious BBQ!!

Great food, excellent service, knowledgeable staff. I had the ribeye steak and my daughter had the brisket. We both have celiac and experienced no problems after the meal. Will definitely go here again!

Usually if I leave a review it's regarding the safety of the foods/restaurant/staff as that is a celiac's main concern or 'fear' when eating out. I absolutely felt safe eating here! Without question! The gluten free menu is extensive and there are disclaimers regarding contamination issues in fryers. Never seen this before. Now, onto the food. HOLY COW! Soooooooooo good! I didn't feel like I was eating a gluten-free meal, I felt like I was eating a meal...a real BBQ dinner... and I was in heaven! I just finished my left overs and thinking about going back before we return to Cincinnati. BTW, anyone from Cincinnati or familiar with Montgomery Inn, The Smokehouse blows them out of the water, so to speak. ;-)
Yes
Good gluten free menu, plus many of their barbecue sauces were gf which was a rare treat! I ordered brisket-stuffed potato skins for an app (ah-mazing), then ribs with baked beans and slaw. My plate came with corn bread on it even though I told the server I was GF, but they remade the plate without question.

We ordered take out and it only took 30 min for 5 of us. Excellent! Staff was very friendly and helpful. I had the smokehouse ribs with baked potato and vegetables. Also had a salad. All of the food was warm. Gluten free menu not online but they have one at the restaurant and most if their menu is gluten free.
Great ribs, pulled pork and chicken. Sauces are gf except for the mustad sauce.
