Dec 2023 - Since the re-opening, they no longer have a dedicated gluten free fryer or workspace. The old location was well equipped for GF, but I was told by staff that there are no longer any measures for cross contamination due to the new space. A loss!

Incredible! Knowledgeable staff, loads of options. Had the most delicious gf mac and cheese bites. Most of their menu can be made gluten free. I went for brunch and dinner, both were excellent. Highly recommend, will be going back again!

I was quite happy with my experience at the stubborn goat. When I asked about gluten-free options, they informed me that they had a separate fryer that was gluten free and they had lots of options. I ordered the Smashburger and had regular french fries with it, which I never get to have because the fries are always cooked in the same fryer as foods with gluten. Everything tasted really yummy, really good portion and they even brought me a nice little side of extra pickles when I asked for it lol. I would definitely go here again knowing that they have the separate fryer and lots of gluten-free options.

Excellent experience. Knowledgeable server who knew exactly what I could and could not eat on the menu. 80% of the menu can be gluten free. Dedicated prep area and dryer.

We were very excited to try this restaurant based on reviews here during our vacation in Halifax. My 20 year old daughter has Celiac so all eating revolves around her options . We were very disappointed to learn that the gf fryer was contaminated the day we were there. Daughter doesn’t eat beef either so her choices were very few. Our server was very nice but he was not knowledgeable with the menu and it’s gf options nor is it marked on the menu. Lesson learned from now on call ahead to ensure gf options are available

Lots of gf options. Our server told us that all gf items are prepared in a seperate kitchen. We went for lunch and so some of the items weren't yet available as they were still prepping. our kids enjoyed it.

I can't believe I didn't find this place sooner. We went for brunch. The gluten free options on the brunch menu were not marked, but do not fret... you can eat almost everything and there are a lot of things (I think there was a pizza option that was the only thing we couldn't eat). They didn't have gluten free bread so the French toast was made with hamburger buns. They looked awful but don't let that fool you. So delicious. I had eggs benny.... also amazing. Came with fries and a salad with greens and fruit. The salad was so good and complemented the dish. I must go back and try more of the menu!! They have a dedicated fryer and we were told the head chef is on leave but has celiac so she designed the menu so she could eat from it. The server was very knowledgeable and pleasant. And they serve boozy breakfast beverages. Great experience.

Had lunch here. Great location. Lots of natural light for a dark English pub. Server was excellent and the menu was clearly marked for gluten free options. Dedicated deep fryer. Had kale salad and truffle fries. No issues with these GF options. Husband who is non celiac enjoyed his gluten pizza.

March 2020: I thought the service and atmosphere were great, but they had very limited options if you're gf and vegetarian, so my meal consisted of fries and a bowl of cold veggies. I'm not a very sensitive celiac (ie won't feel it within minutes) but unfortunately have been having symptoms of cc all night since my meal there. I also found the food to be overpriced for what you get.

Update from June 2021: went back and had a better experience, still not many gf and vegetarian options but they had a few new ones from my previous visit that were delicious. The restaurant was suuuper loud (but also I've barely been anywhere the last year!) but the service was good and the server answered my questions about gf options, and confirmed the food was gf when it came out. I had no ill effects after.

Finally gluten free lobster poutine! Excellent. They have a GF dedicated fryer and a large choice of options

WOW - great staff and food. Dedicated fryer for fries ... I sat at the bar as I was by myself, I mentioned I was celiac - instantly there was another copy of the menu with highlighted items that are or can be made gluten free - not one or two - but almost everything (except the pizza). Of my 5 nights in Halifax, 3 nights were spent here. The burgers can be served on a lettuce bun and the smoked meat loaf is amazing - I highly recommend this place for all.

The staff at the goat care and make sure there is less chances of any cross contamination ... hats off to the management!

Celiac friendly, dedicated fryer, knowledgeable wait staff, menu which clearly marked GF, DG, V options. The most delicious, flavorful food I have had at a restaurant in a long time. Almost everything was GF or able to be made GF - but for the Mac/cheese and pizza. Try the green pea risotto croquettes. To die for. Truffle fries also amazing. Coconut shrimp excellent.

Really cool place with live music the night I went. The food was pretty good. There were a good amount of gluten free options on the menu, but I was told the fryer is not dedicated, so stayed away from fried foods.

Fish and chips was very good ! Be aware that the fish is an entire baked fish (including the head and tail)!

They don't have a gf menu because they have knowledgable servers who know how to walk you through the menu and accommodate meals as needed. I had the queso fundido app & the steak with truffle fries (dedicated fryer).
