We enjoyed our meal, but I wouldn’t say it was really anything special. The online menu is a bit deceiving. While they had a gluten free menu, the items that were marked V, which I assumed was vegan (so my bad) all contained dairy. My daughter got so excited because she thought she was going to be able to eat a grilled cheese and tomato soup. I was also put off that while they said they had a gf fryer, nothing actually came out marked gluten free. None of the dressings were listed in the GF menu so I was a bit apprehensive about getting it. I suppose I’ll see if my daughter has any reaction. The atmosphere is also very much a bar, which didn’t really bother us since we went early enough, but just a heads up if anyone else is thinking of going with kids.

Dinner and breakfast! Both delicious! They have a dedicated fryer for homemade chips and tots. I had the Always Sunny in Philadelphia sandwich and the scrambled egg and tots breakfast bowl. No reaction and I’m a super sensitive Celiac!

Went here based on other reviews. Food was ok. I ordered the Sunny in Philly sandwich and it was good. They brought out the wrong sandwich first which made me nervous so I questioned it. They replaced it with right sandwich. I saw on here someone got gluten bread by mistake. My gf bread looked like a multigrain with seeds on it. Chips were good. Did not try tomato soup but got a salad instead. I was charged extra for salad and bread. I didn’t get any symptoms so that was good.

We needed a meal for my celiac husband late night and found The Yard. The staff was kind, grilled cheese and tomato soup was yummy, and my husband felt good after (he’s sensitive to cross contamination). A win!

Ordered the Fresh Prince grilled cheese GF with chips and tomato soup. It was all delicious. My bread looked strangely similar to other people’s sandwiches in my group. I didn’t think of asking the server if it was gluten free because I selected it based on high Find Me GF app reviews. On the way home I got violently ill vomiting several times for hours and also had diarrhea as well. I thought maybe I had the stomach bug and then remembered that I had my receipt. Sure enough it was a regular Fresh Prince. I will be calling the restaurant tomorrow for sure.

Had a cocktail and the Big Chewbowski on gf bread. Informed them of my dietary needs and had no issues. Saw some bad reviews so I was sketchy, but the meal was great and my stomach wasn’t upset afterwards. The gf bread was great! I was worried it would fall apart but it held together nicely. Chips and soup were yummy.

Not safe for celiacs. Croutons in my salad and I was VERY SPECIFIC. Literally ordered a salad that I knew would only have lettuce/cheese/dressing and they managed to mess it up. Yes it’s tasty but not safe.

We were at the Shadyside location and while everything was gluten free it definitely wasn’t anything to write home about, just a pretty typical sandwich. My non-gluten free family thought the sandwich wasn’t great either. The soup was good though I’ll give them that. EThe service wasn’t great and it took us almost three hours to just get our food. It wasn’t rush hour or anything, we got there at 2:30. At that point our parking meter was almost out so we had to eat super quick and go. I’ll still give it five stars because it was a really safe facility. So basically, will you get sick if you eat there? Nope. Would I recommend this place to a friend? Again, nope.

Gluten free menu with many options. A dedicated fryer meant being able to have tater tots or fries, which was a treat.

Gluten free options aplenty and delicious! They have a dedicated fryer even! We called after putting an order in for a delivery service to ensure they accommodated to the gluten free requirement and they even marked it on the receipt to show they followed the notes. Very much appreciated!!

I was relieved from the get go when I ordered and the first question was whether my gluten free needs were for Celiac's or even a food allergy. I was super excited that the tomato soup was even gluten free and that they reassured me that they had a dedicated fryer as well. Good food and great service.

This place was so amazing. Had thick Texas style gluten-free bread on a grilled chicken blt sandwich that was so delicious. Awesome homey chips and homemade tomato soup that was so delicious. Definitely a place that is extraordinary and a must go to.

Dedicated fryer for chips and fries. Waitress was very good at checking if it was a preference or allergy/celiac disease. However, they’re mushroom, peppers, and onions are cross-contaminated. Waitress informed me of this, and I did have to change my order. Overall, still a good grilled cheese with tomato soup.

Our waitress ensured to ask the kitchen multiple times regarding the gluten free items on the menu we asked about to make sure there was no mistake in communications
I got the Big Chewbowski and their hot chips and I've got to say, this was one of the best meals I've had in a while! And I made sure to let the waitress know that because it's hard to find many places that have really good GF bread, hot chips that are dedicated GF, AND traditional hot wings! I would recommend this place to anyone, GF or not, AMAZING food and experience.

They have a separate GF menu and dedicated fryers for tots and fries! The servers seem familiar with celiac disease, and are proactive in checking if their drinks are GF. After 2 visits, I have not experienced any issues. Yay for dedicated fryers!!

Ate there on Saturday and it is Monday and I’m still not sick, so that is big. Gluten free fryer. Tried the parm wings, French fries and the yard burger on gf. Believe the bread they used is udis thin so the bread was just ok but the food overall was excellent and like I said, I didn’t get sick. Also had Magners cider on tap and good prices. Overall GF dedicated fryer a positive and hard to find. Can’t wait to go back. Thank you for a new food option

Had a great experience; I researched before going, but told the server that I was celiac. As soon as I mentioned it, he called over the manager who introduced herself, explained their kitchen practices and attention to contamination and delivered a GF menu and told me to get her if I had any concerns or questions. She said the tomato soup was GF, so I was surprised to see other comments here indicating it might not be. I took a chance and seem to be fine. The vegetarian offerings are amazing, and this place will be on the list of go-to safe spaces!

MANY OPTIONS. DEDICATED FRYER. TWO 👍 👍
Yes
My gf grilled cheese sandwich was awesome and tomato soup was delicious. I see someone said the tomato soup isn’t gf but i was told it was and I haven’t had a reaction, and I am very gluten sensitive. Server was very educated about options that were safe. Dedicated fryer for French fries.

10/10 recommend!!! I ordered The Yard Burger which comes with their house potato chips and then I ordered a side of French fries because...French fries? Waitress was very knowledgeable and accommodating. I did use my Nima sensor and all tested with a smile (I tested the fries separate and the burger and chips in one). Food is so fresh and very tasty. The house seasoning on fries and chips is so good with a hint of thyme-mmm!! The cocktails were great too! I tried the Aloha Felicia and Tequila-n Me Softly cocktails-both well-balanced and not too sweet. Best meal I’ve had in Pittsburgh, it’s difficult to find Celiac safe options here. Huge thank you to all restaurants that do.
Yes
amazing grilled cheese! love the amount of vegetarian options. i just wish the tomato soup was gluten free as well
They have gluten free bread which opens up so many choices! They are known for their grilled cheese and as soon as I ordered one on gluten free bread the waitress knew to tell me that both sides (tomato soup and housemade potato chips) were not gluten free and give me other choices. Just be prepared for surcharges- $2 for gluten free bread and another upcharge to substitute the sides. Very yummy!
Yes
They cook the sandwiches in individual skillets. They are knowledgeable and understanding. Had the Wang Chung Tonight sandwhich on gluten free bread. I tested it with my Nima semsor and it passed, no gluten detected. Get fruit and a salad as your sides. The tomato soup has traces of gluten and the chips and fries are cooked in shared fryers. Delicious cocktails as well!

I had a great experience here! The serving staff was knowledgeable on celiac disease and kept going back to the kitchen to ask questions. They clean the surface of the grill to cook the grilled cheese and there were several options. They advised not to eat anything fried which I am used to. I usually get stomach pains right away when I am glutened and I have felt nothing! Will definitely be back.
