I brought food for the weekend anticipating that I would not be able to eat anything. My family ate at the pub, and I was surprised to see that they had gluten free buns and wraps available for their sandwiches and burgers. I got nachos as an appetizer because they were corn tortillas and pre-packaged (not fried in site). I ended up ordering a burger. I explained to the waiter that I have celiac, and she told me when bringing out my food that the chef, Scott, had used a separate pan on the grill for my burger, and another for my bun. The next morning, my family was going to the buffet. I was going to just sit, but the same chef, Scott, recognized that he had made my food the night before. He offered to make me eggs, bacon, sausage and breakfast potatoes separately so that I could eat. He used separate pans and double checked with me about ingredients before making it. I was thoroughly impressed with the amount of extra care put into making things gluten free.
