Although the wait was long bc they kept putting our order off to the side, we were happy that Dollywood is coming around to having true gf options. The fries are in a dedicated fryer and the burger is on a gf bun. The staff did need to alert the prep cook so he/she may remove gloves, wash hands and prepare meal. Server even gave us the meal on a separate tray. Our only complaint was that 4 baskets of burgers or tenders with fries was expensive!
Staff seemed fairly knowledgeable about allergies. I watched them prepare my burger and they changed gloves, etc. Dedicated fryer. Not the best burger but I didn’t get sick! The chicken and rice looked very good - I might say go with that instead!! Grateful to have a place to eat at a park!! Gluten free buns don’t have dairy - if you have that allergy!
My son had the burger on GF bun with fries. No reaction.
I was a little nervous because the lady taking our order seemed annoyed to be working, but she just puts in the ticket. She didn’t confirm that the staff would take “allergy precautions” and that the fries are cooked in a dedicated fryer. The food came out on a different tray, which was nice.
The only items in the menu that are Celiac safe are a bag of chips and a pre-packaged brownie. There are a few other items on the menu marked “GF” for gluten-friendly, such as a taco stuffed sweet potato, but I was told by the staff that all items are prepared and served together, thereby cross contaminating the food. The food prep staff were working extremely fast and handling many orders per minute, and there would have been no way to provide a celiac safe meal. The park also states in their literature that no outside food is allowed.
We all had rice bowls and they kids loved them but the adults were not impressed. I wasn't super confident in the girl serving us but most of the food was on a serving line so we didn't get the food next to gluten. Every time I would ask her about something, she'd just look at the menu and tell me it was marked GF. My daughter did not get sick.
Went in looking for Mexican food, as that’s what the review seemed like. It was a fast service with things like chicken tenders, hamburgers, and fries. We let the team lead know my daughter had celiac, and she was teaching one of the young works how to handle this. She had the girl get a clean tray from the back, fries from the back (they have a dedicated fryer). She also had her get new tongs to get a burger, and cheese from the back as well. I thought they did a great job and the food was good. We were told in an email ahead of time they have a gf bun there as well, but she chose no bun. She also, had the girl wash her hands and change gloves, I thought I should throw that in as well.
