Symptomatic Celiac

Overall Rating

Review

Last night was our first time attempting to go out to eat since I stopped eating gluten and dairy. While I'm still awaiting testing to see if I have Celiac, I am symptomatic of Celiac and started feeling better by staying away from gluten and dairy.

While there were a lot of GF items on the menu, there were only a few options for GF and Non-dairy. The waitress and cook were amazing! They communicated to each other and me about the fact that even though the fried Catfish is GF it's fried in the same fryer and oil as non GF items. The waitress then spoke to Chef about what I was looking to order, which ended up being the lamb meatballs (without tzakiki sauce) and a sweet potato, and was able to make it for me without having to flash-fry the potatoe and put the sauce on the side.

It was overall a good experience thanks to the Chef for thinking to ask if I had Celiac or not and the waitress for taking precautions and asking questions for me.

No dedicated fryer, even items labeled as GF are reheated in a fryer also used for gluten containing foods. Not safe for celiac.
