My husband found this place for us. They are operating as a pop-up now and you need reservations. It’s tiny. It is also delicious and amazing. The service was great. We had the green mango salad and then I had fried chicken with gogujang. The portions were big…couldn’t finish it. I ordered coconut rice and it had fresh shaved coconut on the top and throughout. My husband had a curry chicken that was equally as large and delicious. Probably the best meal we had in NYC this trip and that’s saying a lot. Highly highly recommend. All items are gluten free.
Absolutely delicious food. Especially good to get a bunch of plates and share with friends! Even had first gluten free beer here!
Love TLK - 100% GF and all dairy free outside of one dessert (currently the other desserts are from Sixteen Mills!!). I love the tiger fries, brussel sprouts (new!!), tofu bites, spring rolls, peanut noodles, spicy noodles (they are actually spicy) - everything is great with food portion sizes. Make sure to check their website and make a reservation as they are transitioning spaces.
We ordered pickup, and chose a variety of things—coconut rice, tiger fries, salmon skewers, yellow lemongrass coconut curry, and vegetable chow fun noodles. All was delicious, and with 2 celiacs in the family (and one is vegetarian), this really hit the spot. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and the accompanying sauce had a nice balance of spicy and sweet.
The entire kitchen is dedicated GF and the bar staff is very aware of cross-contamination and careful with beer. They also don’t use dairy in their cooking. My partner is a very sensitive, very symptomatic celiac and also lactose intolerant and we had a wonderful time. I even called ahead and spoke to the chef who reassured me we’d be safe, and we were. Highly recommend the peanut street noodles and glazed crispy shrimp!
This is one of my favorite GF spots in the city, and I don’t think we’re talking enough about it. TLK has amazing brunch and dinner options, including daily happy hour.
The food is inspired by Asian street foods. It’s eclectic, savory, and vibrant. They offer a wide array of cocktails and mock tails, and the interior really is a vibe if that’s your thing.
It’s 100% gluten free and absolutely worth your while checking out.
This place is good — I had an incredible mocktail, and my husband and I loved the spring rolls and tamarind eggplant. But, hear me out: I think some things might be a miss! The noodles were a little over cooked, with a peanut sauce that tasted a little more like what you’d find in a jar at Wegman’s. I’m eager to give it another try, though; perhaps it was an off night. And it is really so great to have more dedicated gluten-free restaurants in the city.
Food is very yummy, exceptional cocktails AND mocktails, and fabulous service. It’s an absolute win that this is dedicated GF! The spring rolls were so incredibly good, I honestly can’t wait to go back for them. They do brunch on the weekend, though it’s all savory. Dessert menu isn’t on the website but they have some really lovely options, I uploaded a photo of it here.
Ordered this for delivery last night and oh my gosh, those peanut noodles are insane. I will be dreaming about those until I can order them again. I was a little confused by their website as to whether or not the kitchen is 100% gluten free, but I had no reaction. I’m excited to try more of the menu!
Tiger lily kitchen holds a special place in my heart. Fabulous cocktails and incredible safe food galore. Catch their happy hour bites deal - the wings are INSANE. Just thinking about them at 9am I could house a whole plate. Zero cross contam, ate everything in sight. I caught hoisin on the menu and was like even this is safe and he’s like yep! But I still avoided it cause, trust no one. Anyone brave enough to do that dish? Can’t recall it. Anyway this place is heaven
Great food & drinks. Attentive staff.
Nice decor. Street block not the nicest.
Tables are too small for shareable dishes. Takes away from dinning experience.
What we had - From liked the most to least, but all good:
Tofu bites
Peanut noodles
Fried rice
Tiger fries
Eggplant
Will go back & recommend trying.
We had an amazing experience here and would highly recommend it for a date night. We made reservations late in the day on Saturday but ended up being hungry earlier. We showed up about an hour before our reservation and were able to sit at the bar. The bartenders were super nice, attentive, and personable. The atmosphere was great for an intimate date night with the right level of background conversation and music. In terms of food, we ordered the mango and papaya salad, Chinese broccoli, eggplant, peanut noodles, and a special (chow fun noodles with fried chicken). The broccoli and chow fun were excellent and the clear stars for us. The eggplant was a little disappointing (maybe not marinated enough?) and the peanut noodles weren't quite hitting. We ordered several cocktails and non alcoholic drinks, all of which were very tasty and prepared quickly. Overall a great experience.
Delicious Asian cuisine! My (non GF) and I went here for the first time this weekend. They were booked solid for a few hours but the bar area is first come first serve. When you walk in they have a coat check and take your coats, which is super convenient. The atmosphere is stunning. The bar “stools” were velvet and actually very comfortable. They have hooks under the bar for shopping bags and purses etc. the owner John was actually our server/bartender. He was so nice and caring/had some conversations with us which was great! The food was excellent. Not huge portions, but very delicious flavors and will definitely be back ASAP
Appreciate that the menu is entirely gf with some things that are often hard to get gluten free (fried spring rolls, for example). But the food just isn’t that good! Aforementioned spring rolls were tasty, as were the peanut noodles. But everything else my table tried was weirdly one-note sour and either over or undercooked (eggplant: too firm; ho fun: too mushy). My friends agreed. Nice cocktails and cute, buzzy vibe. I’d maybe come here for fried bites and drinks, but I’d say skip it for bigger meals.
Just to update earlier reviews, we just ate again at TLK (Tiger Lily Kitchen). The food is marvelous, beautifully done, with a lovely presentation. The staff continues to be very warm and attentive. I highly recommend them. Another update November 2023: still fantastic.
