It was a horrible experience! The hostess was sweet. She sat us in the bar area at a table so my daughter could look at the water. The bartender was good at first. We ordered the eggplant tower gf, a gf cheese pizza, and a regular pizza. After we put in our order we were told they didn’t have the ingredients to make the eggplant tower. Fine we didn’t get it. After 45 minutes and not being checked on I was looking around made eye contact with the bartender. the bartender left the bar went to the back came back to our table and said our food was coming soon the manager was checking. The manager came over said our food was coming soon. By this point we only had 2 pizzas ordered. Now 10-15 minutes after we were originally seated a table of 6 came in. We finally got out pizza and the table of 6 got all of their meals 2 minutes after us. The non gf pizza was horrible. We order a margarita pizza. The sauce was a soup on there! You picked up a slice everything fell off in a wet mess. The gf pizza was subpar at best. I could have made a frozen pizza the same. I complained and the manager never came over once to speak with us. Very disappointed in the whole experience. Will not be going back.
Update: I ended up getting sick from their gluten free pizza. Unfortunate because I was excited about a celiac safe pizza. I ordered the gluten free pizza Bianca style. It was good! Unfortunately it was pretty small and it cost me $20, which is more than the super slice they offer. The service also wasn’t great. It was a yummy pizza overall though if you are looking for a pizza option!
Disappointed after reading the positive reviews. I was told the eggplant tower could not be made gluten free, so I ordered the margherita pizza. It was 1/3 the size of the regular pizzas. It was mis-shapen and the crust was uneven. When I bit into it, the cheese slid off the crust. I also had the meatballs - they were good.
Went to Toast for the first time after reading good reviews on the Gluten Free in OC facebook group. It was amazing and I wasn’t disappointed. I had the Eggplant Tower and a side of meatballs as my meal. Both were specifically made gluten free for me, and the owner, Mike, came out and spoke with me to verify as not everyone in our party was gluten free. I know they have gf pizza as well, but didn’t have the room this time t try it. I didn’t se a gluten free menu per se, but read reviews from others who went there. The tiki bar was cute and the view from upstairs was amazing. Both dishes were absolutely delicious and I am looking forward to going back there soon. The staff was also very nice. All around, a great experience!
Great experience.. while there is not a gluten free menu, if you tell them you have a gluten allergy or have Celiac, they know what to do and will let you know a bunch of items they can make Celiac safe. They knew exactly what to do and took all precautions. Very friendly and accommodating staff, beautiful view! I’d recommend!
