Food was gone before I could even take a picture that did it justice. So so good! Staff is very educated! Place is small and busy which was a good sign! They have a gluten free burrito for goodness sakes! We got the burrito and also the gluten free quesadillas which were both so amazing!!
Used to eat the tocaya chain 3-4x a week and they were great with preventing cross contamination. Kept getting sick because the corn tortillas started getting prepared on the same surface as the flour tortillas for the burritos. Now it seems like a cross contamination nightmare. When they’re making the burritos they use the same spoons to place the items on the tortilla which touch the flour tortilla then goes back into the food. For a fad dieter this may be ok but for a celiac it’s unacceptable. I’d stay clear if you’re very sensitive!
Great food, i had gluten free mushroom quesadillas, really lovely.... casual eating type of establishment in a place called The Point which is a combo of shops, eateries, healthy pursuits. Most of the places to eat here would have had GF. No reaction so good find in El Segundo.
I ordered the black bean and quinoa bowl with shrimp along with the St. Tropez tea. Wow, they did not disappoint. So fresh, healthy and delicious! Staff super friendly. Will definitely be back.
I am celiac and the staff at this location seemed very uninformed about what that actually means. There was a mix up with my order and when I wanted to confirm that it was safe for me to eat, the staff gave me a hard time. I ended up sending it back and reordering again to be completely sure I got the correct meal. It’s good that their menu is mostly GF but since they do use flour tortillas, there is still a risk for CC. To me it felt more like a “trendy” GF spot as opposed to celiac safe.
Lots of gf items on the menu, the person taking our order seemed very familiar with gf needs. The large gluten culprit is flour tortillas- We asked about separate prep areas and were notified that the gluten free tortillas (for burritos) and corn tortillas (for tacos)are cooked on the same surface as the flour tortillas. We truly appreciated their transparency in this. Ordered a burrito bowl, which *seemed* safe. As of the next morning I do not have any significant symptoms or problems. The food itself was FABULOUS, my husband and I both enjoyed it.
They have a coconut ‘tortilla’ shell for the burritos and cauliflower rice. It is fast casual but the staff kept offering drink refills (they had a lot of great aguas frescas). The decor was very hip and comfortable. I will definitely be back to try other burrito combinations.
Awesome, new place in DTLA! Fresh menu with many GF options and any questions I have were taken to the friendly manager and chef! Chips are in common oil, but their guacamole looks so good I might bring my own safe chips to try it!
Very authentic tacos and bowls. Got to choose a base and the pick your protein and cheese of choice. Everything on the menu was gluten free except the burritos and quesadilla. Very cute and would definitely go back. The line was out the door so that shows how popular it was. You order at the counter and they bring you your food to enjoy in a nice outdoor or indoor seating area.
Everything was gluten free except the burritos cause of the flour tortilla. I had the carne asada tacos and felt symptoms shortly after. Since there is a dedicated gluten free fryer I knew it wasn’t the tortilla chips and salsa. It must’ve been the taco corn shells cross contaminated in the heating process or something. But I do not feel well at all.
Almost everything except the burritos are gluten free. The tacos I had were tasty and the bowl my girlfriend got was great too. Staff was helpful and friendly. A little bit on the expensive side for the portions we got
This place is great for celiac. The only thing that contains gluten is the tortilla for the burritos. Fryer is gluten free. The tacos are so good! They also have vegan cheese as well as an option for lettuce cups instead of corn tortillas.
