Daughter who has celiac didn’t feel good afterwards . They must not take the proper precautions . The food is greasy and not good . If you have celiac don’t take a chance . Unfortunately not too many options in downtown Disney . Go to in n out before you go which is close.
We placed a to-go order, letting them know at the start that this was an allergy order with extreme sensitivity to cross contamination. One daughter is GF/DF, so we ordered her the street tacos. She loved them! Their GF seafood enchiladas are to die for, and so are their GF chicken quesadillas made with corn tortillas. Best part, no reaction! We will definitely be eating here again.
Used my Nima 5 times last night for my Celiac daughters dinner! Tested: Chips, Salsa, French Fries, kids grilled chicken & rice all tested with a smiley face (negative for gluten). They have tons of other GF options too. Those were just the ones she tried. It was delish too.
We decided to sit at the bar to get faster service. I talked to the manager and he assured me that they send an allergy ticket with the food and it is prepared separately. I asked if the chips were GF and the bartender told me they were but by the time our food came I already felt a little off after filling myself with chips. I had a chicken taco plate with rice and beans. After, my symptoms started to worsen. I don't think I will return. It may be better if you get a table but I'm not sure. I'm disappointed because it had many food reviews.
Delicious Mexican food at Downtown Disney District. This restaurant offers several GF options and will even accommodate for Dairy Free as well. The waitress was knowledgeable and I was impressed when the manager said that the chef had been made aware of my food allergies. This restaurant is very festive and even offers a balloon animal artist for children. I highly recommend this restaurant because the whole family will enjoy their meal and their GF members have plenty to choose from.
We ate here 2 nights while visiting Disneyland. First night the waiter was amazing and took the GF need very seriously. Second night the waitress was a little dismissive of it (“corn or flour tortillas?”, after telling her GF), however, I do believe that the kitchen was careful in prepping it.
Dedicated kitchen area and fryer for GF items. There are so many GF items on the menu, I did not feel deprived at all! Chips & salsa are all GF! Everything is fresh and we were stuffed! I think some of the negative comments on the reviews are from about 4-5 years ago. I'm pretty sure things were updated and changed! Did not get sick at all! Happy family!
We had dinner here the day we arrived for our Disneyland trip. The server was great. He explained the chips and salsa were gf (yay!!!) and that the kitchen has a separate area for allergen food prep. We felt very safe with the decision to eat there. Dinner was a little pricey but it was DELICIOUS! My celiac kiddo loved it and didn't react at all. We will definitely go back.
Ate dinner on a very busy Saturday night. Supportive server and wait staff who were very knowledgeable and took the extra steps to verify that my daughter's food was safe. Told us that they have a detailed process that alerts a manager who oversees food prep with kitchen staff as soon as order is placed. Shared that the tortilla chips are done in a dedicated GF fryer. Daughter had so many choices she was so happy.
The food was fantastic and our waiter was stellar! Probably 70% of the menu was marked as GF! I mentioned that I am celiac and they assured me that they would take good care of us... And they followed through. I don't usually get so many options... So I asked the waiter what he recommended- the pork tamale. I've never had tamales before... They aren't usually gf, right? Anyhow, the food was amazing and I highly recommend this restaurant just outside Disneyland in Downtown Disney.
Having celiac can be challenging when visiting theme parks, but Disneyland does a great job of having a variety of gluten free and allergy friendly options. Make sure you stop by the Town Hall on Main Street inside Disneyland to pick up a list of gluten free friendly options. This trip we decided to eat dinner at Tortilla Joe's in Downtown Disney. The staff is well aware of how to take care of guests with Celiac and other food allergies. The menu was clearly labeled with lots of yummy gluten free options. If you venture out of the theme park and explore Downtown Disney, I would highly recommend eating at Tortillas Joes for a yummy gluten free meal.
