An extraordinary celiac friendly restaurant! Not just easy for us to eat at with no worries, but also genuinely some of the best food in Minneapolis. Seems like the only reason this place isn’t super packed every night of the week, as they should be, is due to a signage issue: it’s a landmark protected sign, they have to use it, but it implies they’re a “diner”. Couldn’t be further from the truth. The chef is a literal artist with fresh ingredients and flavor profiles. American eatery...very approachable. I’ve eaten there about 30 times, extremely sensitive to gluten, and have never had a cc issue. Deserts are some of the most memorable dishes (the chef’s wife is the pastry chef). The chef and staff are extremely knowledgeable and will tirelessly work to ensure celiacs and allergy sufferers are safe! You’ll be very happy eating here, it’s such a relief to feel like you have no worries eating such a great meal. Highly recommended.
The Town Talk is a truely high-end dining experience where the finest ingredients are combined with subtle artistry to offer an extraordinary set of balanced flavors. The owners are extremely aware of gluten intolerance / celiac issues and always have some gluten free options on the menu, but are also able to make intelligent substitutions in dishes that would otherwise not work. My girlfriend has a formal celiac diagnosis and is extremely sensitive to gluten. We have eaten there 15 or more times and have never once had an issue. I am not sure what approach they take to the risk of cross contamination with cookware or not, but I can say that we've never had any issues with gluten there. It is a restaurant she has learned to trust implicitly after many bad experiences at other establishments.
