A seperate frier and a great (and very friendly) understanding of coeliac requirements made this a great spot to have some fish and chips. They even have GF desserts. Definitely recommend.

This is a modern take on the traditional fish-and-chip shop and restaurant. In my experience over quite a few years, it is entirely safe for celiacs- the fries are done separately, they fry the fish in a delicious gluten-free batter, they offer cider and gluten-free beer, as well as delicious gluten-free sweets (if you have the room). There is always a warm welcome too from servers who seem well informed about gluten-free issues. It is a genuine neighborhood venue too. The dining room is a fair size. You can reserve on line. The food is great. Not in the centre of Eastbourne, but an under-10-minute ride on bus 1 Hamlands or 1A Willingdon Trees (the stop is opposite Eastbourne Station in Gildredge Road) - you leave the bus at the stop called Northiam Road.

Feel very fortunate to live so close to this chippy. And...it delivers!
Have tried GF fish and chips in various places across the UK but Trident wins.
Batter is light, crispy and delicious. Not heavy or stodgy or... suspiciously deep orange like some I've had on holiday. A proper fish and chips!
The rest of my gluten eating family actually prefer the GF batter so we order a job lot all round now!
Caution: if you have a nut allergy, it's worth checking. I read on the website that they fry everything in peanut oil! If they do - they don't make it known very obviously when you call or order in person (they may have changed it!) but if you have a peanut allergy I would definitely ask first!!!

Best fish and chips around. My partner who generally doesn't like gluten free (gluten eater) cannot tell the difference. Highly recommend.

Dedicated gluten free fryer which means no more waiting until 'fresh fryer' day for GF fish and chips! Any day of the week you can pick your fish and it's only 99p extra for GF batter! Service isn't always with a smile (thus 4 stars) BUT it's a small price to pay.

The FIRST gluten free chippy we've come across. We felt like NORMAL customers ordering from the same menu as everyone else. Could have anything we wanted battered Gluten free and it was only 99p extra!
