I love Vilai's Thai Kitchen and I have eaten there dozens of times. I have tried items such as gf Beef with Broccoli which is delicious and Thai Fresh Rolls. However, my favorite is their Panaeng Curry! I've added chicken and shrimp which are both excellent. Vilai's is typically open, off-season which is extremely helpful when some restaurants in the OBX are not open in the winter.
Very tasty, big portions! If you tell them you’re sensitive, they are happy to accommodate and use GF soy sauce. I had the Thai basil with shrimp. Tender and delicious, did not get sick!

I’ve been twice and it’s DELICIOUS, seems safe and staff is knowledgeable
I did not ask about a GF menu and just went with curry which is naturally GF (unless a gluten-containing add-in is used like seitan or a protein marinated in soy sauce but I’ve never had that happen). I confirmed with the server before ordering. It was yummy and I did not feel sick from it.

The staff was very knowledgeable about Celiac disease and using the correct protocol for a gluten allergy. They were so friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and I didn’t get sick. This was the first night of our vacation and what an excellent way to begin!
I am a local and get the GF pad Thai and the gluten free pho to go. It is a great value for your money and I would give them 6 stars if I could. Make sure you tell them that you must have gluten free.
The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. Almost the entire menu can be modified. They have gluten free tamari sauce!!! Great Thai food! We will be back!

Even after speaking to the waitress and telling her I have celiacs and asking her to verify with the kitchen that the dish I ordered didn't have gluten, I got glutened here.
Great food and celiac friendly. Make sure to choose your spice level carefully though. We ordered hot beef pad se ew and it was very very spicy.
Very conveniently located right across the street from the Hilton Garden Inn in Kitty Hawk, NC. Awesome sticky coconut rice. Pad Thai was delicious. Quick service. Anything can be made gluten free and they had gluten free soy sauce - just ask! Very sensitive celiac daughter had no reaction. Would definitely go back!

Very good food. Staff very knowledgeable. Most of the menu can be made GF. I forgotten how much I like Thai food. Hard to find GF Thai where I live.
Had a delicious meal. My first time eating Thai food. Waitress seemed to be knowledgeable about gluten free so crossing my fingers no contamination. I feel pretty confident though. Oh...and the prices were great. Family of four ate for $38!
Staff was very knowledgeable regarding ingredients within the foods offered on the menu. I have celiac with DH and other food allergies. My dish was specially made for me using a gluten free soy sauce. The food was delicious. I encountered zero reaction. I will return!
