So I have to go here for a rehearsal dinner and I’m not eating because of all the bad celiac reviews and also I got sick very from them very recently. The groom called the manager and asked if outside food/snacks would be okay since I have other medical conditions. The manager got mad and said they are so safe and he won’t allow even a snack! It’s RIDICULOUS!! BOYCOTT this place
This is not safe establishment for anyone on a gluten free diet for medical reasons. Was assured food was prepared in a separate area, I went to sleep sick to my stomach and woke up with a migrane after consuming vegetables, grilled chicken and creme brulee.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone with Celiac disease. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
The server immediately noticed that I had a gluten free menu in front of me, and assured me that he would take good care of me. I even forgot to mention "no croutons" on my salad, but it came out with no croutons. I had Bbq chicken pizza, which was good. I've had better gluten free crust, but overall it was quite good. I even got creme brule for dessert! I will definitely be going back.
I ordered an omlet, which you think wouldn't be to hard to make gluten free since it is naturally gluten free. I informed the server that I needed to eat gluten free, and my meal comes back with a nice muffin right on the plate. I did get another omlet, without a muffin but I couldn't trust them after that. They don't seem too concerned with keeping people safe, I won't be going back.
Their gluten free pizza was just OK but I did appreciate a full gluten free menu and knowledgable staff.
The spaghetti squash is awesome! Several choices and everything looked good!
Village Tavern has a gluten free menu with many options. I am celiac and had the shrimp and grits. They were delicious as was the Tavern salad. My wife is not gf and she had the filet mignon. She said it was outstanding and was more than she could eat. The service was great and our server was very knowledgeable about gluten free options.
