Vivi is a great establishment to find safe gluten free pizza. They are expensive but worth it. They prepare and cook their GF pizzas on their own individual metal pans, and they cut with a fresh pizza cutter (so long as you indicate celiac and not a preference). I definitely recommend to any celiac looking for safe and delicious restaurant pizza! (Plus good salads :D)
Definitely one of rare Italian restaurants I felt fully safe eating at! The food and variety of options is great. I had the gluten free pasta with marinara and sausage. I confirmed that they do have dedicated water for gluten free noodles so no cross from water! Didn't try the gluten free pizza but will next time. Just FYI - they don't have AC inside of the restaurant so it is toasty in there, sit outside if possible!
I used to love coming here, the GF pizza and pasta is so good, and it still is. However, every time since it changed ownership last year they have brought out gluten pizza instead of the GF pizza. It’s SO disappointing. I understand one time being a mistake but it has happened 3 times now and I don’t think I can trust this restaurant anymore for GF. One of the times my mom who is celiac even took a bite of the gluten pizza thinking it was GF. That same time they brought out a new pizza and it was still not GF… so we ended up just leaving. If you eat here, make sure it is the GF pizza when they bring it to you or maybe just don’t eat here with an allergy.
Have had pizza here a couple times now with no issues. The crust and GF pizza is some of the best I’ve had. The staff seems to be knowledgeable, they specifically asked if I was celiac and said extra precautions would be taken. I always worry a bit with pizza since there is going to be regular dough and flour around but so far no issues when eating at Viva, which has not been the case at other pizza places.
Delicious gluten free pizza!! The crust is corn-based and could be substituted with any of the pizzas. They also had a penne pasta alternative for all of their pasta dishes. Staff seemed well-informed and very careful.
Be cautious of them cooking your pizza on the same surface as gluten-containing pizza.
Their gluten free pizza crust is amazing, very delicious. I was scouting on behalf of my daughter, who just recently found it she was Celiac. I asked the server how they address that. She said you need to tell them, they prepare in a separate part of the kitchen and cook the pizza on a separate sheet to keep the gluten free crust from touching the surface that is used for all cooking. And again, delicious!!
