Coming from out of town and to have breakfast here was amazing. Regular bacon egg and cheese on a waffle is what I ordered. But something about my order was different, oh yeah, the taste and presentation. I received the food wrapped like a taco. The waffle was very flavorful as well as the egg and bacon. Serving size was just perfect.
I ordered online and put in a note about having celiac disease. When we got there in the morning, the employees told us that they’d already made multiple waffles and they didn’t have a dedicated gluten free waffle maker. They apologized and gave us a full refund. They also gave us some free drip coffee for our troubles. The staff were very kind, although I would not recommend Waffle Champion if you have celiac disease.
No dedicated waffle iron. Long wait. Allowing homeless population to “hangout” with several of her bags occupying tables.
They told me that they were NOT Celiac friendly. They only offer GF food for those that choose to eat gf for diet choice. "GF food but not a GF restaurant."
Kind of a downer to find a place that offers 'gluten free' versions of their specialties only to find out it's really not GF - no dedicated irons. The reason? "We literally only sell about two gluten free waffles a day." Trendy dieting strikes again - if you are 'choosing' to eat GF, go for it, otherwise, don't plan on having a waffle here. I did have the tomato bisque and a ham, bacon, and egg scramble. The fam said the waffles are delicious.
So yummy but had a reaction after eating here. I'm not sure why they offer gf batter since they cook it in a gluten waffle iron. A decent waffle iron is $30, it might be worth it to purchase one since your making the batter anyway
I'm not celiac, but I did experience some symptoms after eating a waffle here. It was delicious though. My kids were not affected, but they are not as sensitive as I am. Very nice option if you are not very sensitive. The omelette I had with my waffle was very good. I appreciate their effort although a separate waffle iron might be a nice step.
Have gluten free batter and every time are very sure to tell you that they use the same waffle iron. I was very impressed with the taste and texture. Also have the option to get any waffle sandwich "debris style" and they but the sandwich ingredients over waffle fries.
This place is so good! They do have gluten free waffles but they are upfront to tell you they are cooked on the same iron as the other waffles. Bring your Benadryl, worth it.
