This is a great grocery store and cafe for GF food! They have a large grocery selection of frozen and packaged GF foods. In their cafe area, their sushi is made without any gluten containing ingredients (even the soy sauce) and their buffet items are labeled.
They recently added signs saying all their sushi is made with no gluten-containing ingredients. While the preparation area is not guaranteed to be safe, since all their sushi is GF there is a low chance of contamination. I just had sushi for the first time since my Celiac diagnosis and have had no reaction. So happy to have found sushi I can eat! Their GF grocery section is also solid. The rest of the store runs too expensive for my weekly shopping, but I go there to get specific GF items and often buy them in bulk. I buy their Wegmans brand Wholesome granola bars by the box.
This is a grocery store not a restaurant, but they do have a lot of to-go food and it is labeled on the salad bars and food bars what contains gluten. They have several dedicated gluten free aisles as well within the grocery store.
So many options! Form gluten free sushi and soy sauce to an extensive selection of foods in the main store. All of their brand name food is clearly labeled with a gf or dairy or nut symbol with makes it very easy to shop there
In addition to having a large GF product section, the Market Cafe now has many GF offerings. While many of their sushi items have been GF for some time, they now offer many Asian food options and have other foods to choose from in the salad bar and Mexican bar. All items are clearly labeled. My wife and daughter who have Celiac have eaten here many times without any problems. In addition one of the managers told me they would be more than happy to prepare any item GF in the kitchen upon request.
They clearly label their gluten free items in the Food Court. I got a Spring Roll with Gluten-free sauce over the summer. They also have wonderful packaged Italian cookies in the bakery section. Great selection of Gluten Free items - products you can't find in other places.
Excellent selection of gluten-free items, including some that are hard to find (did you know that Mama Mary's has gluten-free pizza crusts? I didn't before I got to Wegmans!). Wegmans also has store brand GF items that are just as good as their brand equivalents, and most of the time at better prices.
Clear labeling, but employees have NO idea. I even asked one guy at the burrito kiosk and he didn't seem the least bit interested in checking or offering an intelligent response. Just said "I wouldn't know (if that's GF). You'll have to just figure it out." Ummmm, what?!? Sushi IS gluten free. GF soy sauce. Be careful of cross-contamination. And make sure to indulge in a GF adult beverage... They have a semi-decent selection.
I ate there twice in the span of two days and also got a to go order. First time in three years I've been able to have bread to dip in oil and it was the best! The bun didn't hold up but it was the best tasting and even reheated well in the microwave. After eating a basket of bread I could only eat half my sandwiches. One of the best burgers I've ever had and the bacon so good! The main thing I liked about the chicken was the bread. They had to cut the chicken in half and double it up. Four stars is because I ordered a to go salad and had a small reaction but could have been from something else.
The most amazing GF selection of any grocery store I've ever been to, I absolutely 100% recommend...I just wish they had one closer to where I live now! If you go there for a meal, their pre-cooked food section also clearly marks food items not containing gluten. However, the signs always state that there are "no gluten ingredients" and imply that most of the food is prepared in shared prep areas. I've never gotten sick after eating there, but definitely something for those with high sensitivity to watch out for.
