I love Wegman’s, and this location is my favorite in the area because they have many more options of prepared GF cakes/cookies etc than their other locations and their items do state there may be cross contamination but i’ve never had an issue with any of their bakery items, store made tv dinners or sushi. All of their sushi is gf and served with gf soy sauce.
The most amazing GF selection of any grocery store I've ever been to, I absolutely 100% recommend...I just wish they had one closer to where I live now! If you go there for a meal, their pre-cooked food section also clearly marks food items not containing gluten. However, the signs always state that there are "no gluten ingredients" and imply that most of the food is prepared in shared prep areas. I've never gotten sick after eating there, but definitely something for those with high sensitivity to watch out for.
Just a grocery store, but impressive GF selection. Only place I grocery shop. I prefer Wegmans to Whole Foods/Trader Joe's!
We ordered a full GF sandwich tray from catering to pick up for a party. We gave 24 hours notice but they told me they could do it with 3. Everything was fresh, the portions were huge, and the toppings were great. Would have been WAY more expensive to make all those sandwiches myself. They took care to avoid CC and we did not get sick. Will order again.
Wegmans has tons of GF items, both labeled GF and prepared food labeled with No Gluten Containing Ingredients. I’m a symptomatic celiac as is my son and we’ve never had a bad experience here including their amazing sushi, Burger Bar, and Bowl Bar.
The only exception is the hot bars, but that’s just too risky for cross contact. We also don’t get gf pizza from the pizza shop.
Great takeout to pick up a quick dinner after grocery shopping. We have had their pre prepared meals, safely prepared hoagies, pizza, sushi. (Including shrimp tempura sushi), and poke bowls with no issues for years.
Also if you’re so inclined you can get gf beer and cider to go with your meal. Thanks for doing such a great job Wegmans!
In addition to the grocery selection at Wegmans, which has great allergen-friendly sections, there are a variety of reasy-to-eat allergen-friendly meals too. You can order gluten-free (and dairy-free) pizzas, you can get a sub on gluten-free bread (similar to Jersey Mike's), and there are always at least a few gluten-free dessert options, as well as some that are dairy-free too.
If you need something quick or need to grab food while grocery shopping, this is always a solid option.
