This was my first time at Wendy’s since my diagnosis. The cashier said they do NOT have a dedicated fryer just for fries. I’d read online that the Wendy’s baked potato and the chili are generally safe. I was too nervous about cross contamination to try a chicken salad, for fear that they’d cut the chicken on the same board as they cut the breaded chicken (but that may be an unfounded worry). Then I found a site online that said the taco salad is safe with no modifications needed. So I tried it out. It seemed pretty safe because most things were prepackaged except the chili. The salad came with chips, two packs of sour cream, prepackaged salad with tomatoes and cheese, prepackaged salsa, and warm chili. Overall the salad was fairly good and surprisingly filling. Would I go here again? Yes. Would I come often? No, the choices are pretty limited and there’s not a convenient gluten free menu. But it’s great when the whole family is on the road and needs a quick meal.
