This place has amazing ice cream they have plenty of gluten ice cream options. Their ice cream labels are clearly marked with food allergens. We told the staff that our family had celiac disease and everyone was very accommodating. The staff brought out new ice cream containers so there wouldn’t be any cross contamination.

They were completely accommodating like it was absolutely normal to handle getting clean ice cream for someone with allergens. I am from here and wasn’t sure if we would be able to do our usual stops now that my daughter has Celiac. Our household cheered when we saw the other review about a week before our trip to visit my parents. There are only a few flavors with listed allergens but asking them to use a new scoop and open a new pail was met with assured head nods and smiles. It was wonderful to be so stress free and my daughter very much enjoyed visiting the same place we have for years.

West's is THE place for ice cream in Hayward. Every flavor is clearly marked with its allergens. Staff is always willing to change gloves, open a new bucket of ice cream, and use a freshly cleaned scooper. We were there on a crazy busy day and they went out of their way to provide a totally safe experience. (And then we went back two more times during our vacation and had the same great experience!) Love enjoying treats just like everyone else. :-)
