Horrible service. Sat for at least 15 minutes before I told the gal that sat us we still hadn't been waited on. Then we waited another 8 minutes. There were some bakery items but other than that the menu items to order were minimal. I ordered a salad and it came out looking a day old and just grossed me out. It was $14 for my salad! That I couldn't even eat.
Got extremely sick and was treated like no one cared that I had a disease. Really rude and will not return!
Too much flour flying around
The caramel roll was pretty divine
Such great cinnamon rolls! Egg dishes are gf enough for me but somebody with severe reactions should be cautious. Some staff are more knowledgeable than others. The restaurants name should give away the high possibility of cross contamination.
Was a little nervous after other reviews, but had a great experience. Informed the host and waiter that I had Celiacs and he was able to tell me the protocols they undertake to prevent cross contamination. I was also very specific about my needs. They give heated/toasted against the grain bread to go with herb butter for the table. And I had the pesto with chicken on rice linguini which had a neutral flavor so I could really taste the pesto. They were super careful and I didn’t have a reaction. Good quality food with a great flavor.
The staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating, the gluten free menu was extensive and the ambiance wonderful! The scallops melted in my mouth like butter and the gluten free bread was delicious along with the seasoned whipped butter! The waitress was very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. All in all probably the best meal I have had in years!
The food is great. We had chicken and sausage scarpetta, the Mac and cheese, salad and bread. Our waitress was very informed and helpful, even with menu changes. Well worth the drive and well worth experimenting with new dishes. A quality place.
They make their own gf pasta, and it is awesome! Gf bread before dinner if you ask for it, and substitutions for nearly everything on the menu except the mac and cheese because flouris used as a thickener. Love this place and are always treated well by the staff.
Went here with my family. We thought the waiter was a bit slow. Whatever; but when I literally asserted the fact that I am a Celiac, he was very much in agreement and knew what to suggest. But I became very ill after eating here and I’m sure the pasta he gave me was contaminated. Also, I am pretty sure the waiter was drunk because we smelt booze off of him and he was slurring words. I do not recommend whatsoever.
I have been here a few times and never gotten sick, and I am fairly sensitive to cross contamination. There is a separate gluten free menu including pizzas and pastas. They bring bread out before the meal and bring me my own gluten free bread and butter. They have dedicated space for gluten free prep and cooking.
Love this place! They actually served GF bread before the meal! It was warm and with my own separate butter. What a treat! Enjoyed an Omission beer (gluten removed) as well! They had many options for gluten free meals including 3 different GF pastas! Waiter was very accommodating!
The restaurant did an amazing job making sure there was no cross contamination between gluten free and gluten food. The same is true for friends who had food allergies to pine nuts. We had an amazing meal and the staff was very accommodating. Thank you!
They claim to be gluten free, however, They ARE NOT! Being celiac, I was assured my food would be handled properly AND IT WAS NOT. FOOD WAS CROSS CONTAMINATED and I was sick for 3 straight weeks with the after effects lasting months. Upon contacting management there was NO acknowledgement! Would never recommend ! Staff had no clue either!
Stopped by here on the way to Montreal after finding it on this app. My daughter absolutely LOVED their gluten free pizza! This is a huge deal because she hasn't said that about ANY other GF pizza before! Their GF menu is pretty extensive. They make their own pastas as well. Our server was great, even giving my daughter her separate little plate of butter for her GF rolls. If we didn't live 4 hrs from here, we'd be here every week!
Tim at the front desk was very gracious and helpful!!. He knew we needed GF menus because we had mentioned in our online reservation that I have celiac. I also mentioned to the server" I have Celiac" .... and she seemed to understand. I felt relaxed--oh good, I can dine safely (because the irony of eating at WHEATfields is not lost on me) She took our order, brought our drinks and we were very happy. Then, we were given a basket of bread. I'm pretty sure I have made it clear I have celiac :) and I do not like to keep bringing it up, but...hello? I can't have bread!! I flagged him down asked if he could take it away. And asked nicely "Do you have any GF bread by any chance"? He says "Oh you wanted Gluten Free bread?" Er, yes please? It came about 10 minutes later (they heat it up) and I was delighted to see it was Against the Grain baguette I like so much. Yum. Dinner was great! I had the lemon spinach risotto with shrimp. Hubs had a Caesar salad (he picked the croutons off) he is also GF, but not a celiac or NCGI and he did not specify he did not eat those, so it was no one's fault and not a big deal. However, I was offered a "flourless chocolate cake" for dessert. After asking a few questions, I learn....... it's not baked in a GF facility. So, actually, no, this dessert is NOT GF. Note to Wheatfields: You should make this clear to your patrons. Cross contamination is a very real problem for celiacs. I know. I have become quite ill from eating a flourless chocolate cake at another restaurant, only to learn it came from SYSCO. The made- on- the- premises creme brulee , however, was really delicious! Kudos. Go there and enjoy, but ask questions first. Ask them where the GF pizza dough is made for example..... Just sayin.
I had the corn penne and it was so good I was afraid they had given me regular pasta! If you're going to order appetizers and salads, it would probably get a little pricey, but the pasta dish was very reasonably priced. Made reservations to go again tonight!
Gluten free was good. They have a GF menu. The food was not worth what they charge. We ordered from the GF menu and they brought us bread. The shrimp appie was $12 and was burnt with shell bits still stuck to the shrimp. $6 for a $2 bottle of Saratoga sparkling water.
