Winchesters has a great safe burger, fries cooked in a dedicated fryer and gluten reduced Leashless beer V-town on tap. (I’ve never any reaction and been drinking it for years.) What more could you want? Truthfully, I love this food and beverage combo so much I don’t think I even know what’s on the rest of the menu.
With patio, street, and inside dining. Great view of downtown to people watch during you lunch or dinner. Had the 50-50 burger which tasted ok, but combining the bacon with the beef diluted both tastes, "Dukes Favorite" is a bacon burger with a fried egg and this was great. The Gluten free bread instead of a bun tasted great as well. Fries in their own fryer makes them safe to eat. Waiter very well informed about the gluten free options and they are on the menu.
It was good the staff was knowledgeable about what did not have gluten. But anyone celiac knows it only takes a crumb or dust to cause a reaction. I think that is what happened to me since there is not a dedicated kitchen.
Staff was friendly and aware of gluten allergies. Our waitress said that another staff member has a severe gluten allergy and had been training other staff on how to handle orders. When I first told her I had a gluten allergy she stated there was a list in the kitchen of safe items and came back to the table and explained what items were gluten free. I found the staff very friendly and helpful. I felt safe eating there and would go back again.
