I rarely write reviews but thought I’d share my experience at Winewood since the negative reviews here almost scared me away from what ended being one of the best meals I’ve had in years. My husband and I had a few hours to kill before our flight back to MA at DFW and decided to check out the Grapevine botanical garden (which was lovely). Then we found Winewood and went there for a very early dinner since we’d be flying from 6-10. The food was outstanding. We had crab cakes for an app, and shared one of the steak specials - cowboy cut, bone-in, finished with horseradish cream sauce, bacon wrapped shrimp, side of truffle mashed potatoes, and grilled asparagus. All of it was perfection and the best meal we had in the Dallas/Plano area. Marc took extremely good care of us and made excellent recommendations. Would 100% go out of my way to go back there next time we’re in Texas. I’m going to be thinking about that steak for a long time. Lovely ambience too even if we were one of the only tables in there, given the mid-afternoon hour. Marc did an excellent job telling me what was safe for me to eat. Gluten free crab cakes!! Worth going for that alone! I had no issues afterward. 10/10.

The Gluten Friendly items were marked on the menu with an asterisk. The staff was knowledgeable and communicated with the kitchen. The crab cake appetizers were excellent, as was my fish entree. Lovely setting and the staff did not rush us, even on a Saturday night. I consider it a win if the food is great and I feel healthy afterwards!

Disappointing experience. Menu items marked gluten free not actually available gf without cross contamination. Our server Maggie was the only reason I didn't get sick. She advocated for safe practices when the kitchen did not. Clearly poorly trained kitchen. And the markings on the menu are misleading. After three back and forths and changes, I was served two eggs, some bacon, and fruit without yogurt and charged $13. I won't be back and I hope they make improvements for their future patrons sake.

Menu denotes gluten free options on the menu. Excellent drink menu.
Yes
Their menu in general is small and they do not have a gluten free menu. There is something at the bottom of the menu that says ask your server about vegetarian and gluten free options (one is a voluntary dietary restriction, the other a medical necessity). The gluten free options were vague, the waiter seemed clueless and I unfortunately got very sick after eating very basic foods here.
No
Excellent variety of GF options, great menu, service, food. No kids meals, so kids will have to buy a full GF adult entree.
